Changes for West Coast Next Week

Had to be against us of course.

With the return of more senior players and a handful of others coming off the injury list, there will finally be decisions for the Eagles to make at selection this week. Captain Luke Shuey and veteran defender Shannon Hurn are both expected to face Richmond after being managed for the trip to Brisbane. Premiership defender Tom Cole is also in the mix for elevation after being eased back from a serious ankle injury as the substitute. Up to six AFL players are expected to feature in the Eagles' WAFL team this week, bringing relief after weeks of low availability. – Nathan Schmook

Our VFL side is playing as far from our AFL side as possible- @Southport Saturday morning. So the VFL side will need to travel to Queensland on Friday night, so I imagine 25 or 26 will head to Perth with the AFL team, meaning a few wont play anywhere this week.
I wonder if a couple of say Jack, Cotch or Grimes might travel as emergencies and not play if we dont have any late outs?

We wont be resting players now. You dont do this as this stage of the year. Its all about making finals.

We had the bye and now 9 days between games.....

He's played two games in 4.5 weeks

Does he need more rest?

I thought Soldo was a certainty to be picked this week. Not so sure now after listening to Mini.

Forgot Ryan played his best ever game against WCE earlier this year (round 8) as a #1 ruckman. Perhaps Soldo will miss out again, even without Nank.

I would be staggered if he doesnt get picked. If Nank was just missing one game we could go the Ryan/Miller combo. Maybe even if Nank was back after the Hawks game.
But we need Soldo in for the Dees game, so he should come in now.
That's not disrespectful to the WEagles or Hawks- I reckon we would be a better team with Soldo rucking, but we might get away with the younger rucks against the weaker teams.

In: Hugo Ralphsmith, Ivan Soldo, Rhyan Mansell, Samson Ryan, Judson Clarke
Out: Toby Nankervis (suspension), Jacob Bauer (injured)

It would not be wise to underestimate West Coast on Sunday as they are now getting back some of the top players and we are playing them on their ground. We should have the guns to beat them but it won't be easy

I agree this is a HIGH risk game. Indeed many a punter will (rightly) take the generous odds on West Coast................ :(

Just curious.......

Who are our "guns" that are playing consistent good footy?

We've been smashed (and our 'guns' have been nowhere to be seen) for 6 of the last 8 quarters.................

At times it pays to optimistic! I reckon Taranto, Broad, Balta, Vlaustuin, DRioli, Baker, Martin and even Bolton when he wants to are regularly amongst our best.

Expect Jack to play this week and next. Won't surprise if he doesn't play the following games against Melbourne and the Dogs, but maybe to return against North at home, and there complete a gracious final game exit.

I think the cats more than the blues we need to worry about re %. The Blue's run home is pretty tough. I think at a min we'll win 1 or 2 more than them.
We'll beat west coast that I have no doubt, it's only a matter of by how much. We are playing good football. I agree on cumbers hopefully he comes in too.
We're 140 points or so down on Carlton so I think (unless WC is a massive win) that we'll we need to win 2 more than Blues. Their run home is only slightly harder than ours imo. Virtually no chance of catching Geelong's percentage (approx 270 points) but their run home is very tough. Need 2 more wins than them too. Just need to keep winning.
