Changes for Round 4

Given that we have been overrun in final quarters, we need to add an extra zone defender.
Back-end the structure and thus take out one forward.
Increased focus on tackling causing stoppages, more ball-ups, will also allow the team to regroup.

Call me *smile* bonkers, but I'm more confident about beating the Dogs than I was about beating St Kilda.

I just think that we can exploit them in the key posts, as long as our mids don't their mids walk it out of the centre.
You tHink we can do what we did in Rd 7 last year.... Big rebound win v Dogs.. Was about our best for year. We have won 7 games since then them 13.

Need to rejig things now. Need to get the right chemistry flowing.
Noah goes back until Dylan returns. Jack up front.
Connection in D50 is a problem. Gib's inexperience is starting hurt. Needs to learn the system in the magoos.
Forward pressure also a problem - StKilda's transition from defence killed us in the last Qtr - I would swap Bakes and Daniel back to their traditional roles
Mids - well we all know the issues there - time to end the farce - Arthur in.
Ins: Arthur, Jack, Stacky (sub) MRJ
Outs: Grimesy, Ross, Gibcus (sub) Aarts punted for good

Prestia and Jack will play this Sat by all reports. Can see min 4 changes being made.

Ins: Prestia, Jack, Miller, RCD or Sonsie

Outs: Grimes (inj), Soldo, Ross, Aarts (med sub)

Would love to fit Mansell in somewhere but can't see Dimma making 5 changes.

Here is the report for the VFL, id say our best 5 were Sonsie, RCD, Mansell, Martyn and Clarke

Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris provides a summary of how the Tigers’ players performed in Sunday's Round 2 match against Sandringham.

Tyler Sonsie (34 disposals, 10 clearances, seven tackles, eight rebound-50s, two score-assists, one goal)

"Had huge clearance and contested ball numbers. It was also pleasing to see him really improve his defensive intent with seven tackles, and he had a classy finish in front of goal."

Riley Collier-Dawkins (24 disposals, six tackles, six clearances)
"Really high contested possessions and for the second week in a row, stepped in to tackle with intent. He's continuing his good form."

Rhyan Mansell (23 disposals, nine marks, five inside-50s)
"Attacked the contest with ferocity all day. He worked hard and found plenty of the footy as well."

Will Martyn (19 disposals, seven marks, one goal)
"I really liked Will's game. His attitude was outstanding and has been for a number of weeks as he learns a new role. But he also went in and had an impact in the middle when he got his chance."

Lachlan Street (19 disposals, seven clearances, six tackles, one goal)
"Led the team well. He was strong in the contest and fought hard on the day with a really classy finish to go with it."

Judson Clarke (18 disposals, six inside-50s, five clearances)
"Found plenty of the footy. He probably was not quite as clean as he would like, but he continues to take steps forward."

Angus Hicks (17 disposals, nine tackles, three clearances)
"Found a fair bit of the footy and battled his backside off with nine tackles. He found himself down back at times which was new role for him."

Sam Banks (13 disposals, four clearances)
"Still on limited minutes. He probably he had less of an impact this week but he's still taking steps forward."

Noah Cumberland (13 disposals, five tackles, one goal)
"We tried him up and around the footy a little bit more, and he probably had a quieter day. It was a good day for him to continue learning different aspects of his game."

RichmondvSandringham-19451.jpg

Samson Ryan (12 disposals, 36 hit-outs, four marks, one goal)
"Battled really hard all day against an experienced ruckman. He had 36 hit-outs, took a strong overhead mark and finished in front of goals. He's progressing really nicely."

Austin Johnson (12 disposals, four tackles, three clearances)
"Played really well on debut. He was one of our cleaner players on the day and he played his role really well on the wing."

Tom Brown (12 disposals, three marks, three inside-50s)
"He showed glimpses of his class on the weekend, but probably let himself down a little bit with his positioning and contest work which is a real focus for him."

Bigoa Nyuon (11 disposals, six marks, four rebound-50s)
"He had a great day with some really impactful spoils, clearing the first layer. He battled hard down back under serious pressure and it was a strong outing for him."

Mykelti Lefau (11 disposals, five tackles)
"Took a couple of really strong contested marks. He didn't finish his work off in front of goal, but he tried hard all day."

Ben Miller (nine disposals, five marks, three rebound-50s)
"Was a little bit quieter on the weekend. He didn't have much of an offensive input, but we saw what he can do the previous week at AFL level."

RichmondvSandringham-23678.jpg

Cam Olden (eight disposals, three tackles)
"Was a little bit quieter on the weekend on a tough day for forwards."

Bailey Henderson (eight disposals, five tackles)
"He started down back before going onto a wing and probably didn't have the impact that he would have liked on the game."

Jackson Davies (seven disposals, three tackles)
"He tried extremely hard down back on a tough day under immense pressure and held his opponent relatively quiet."

Maurice Rioli (six disposals, three inside-50s, two clearances)
"A lot quieter than he was in previous weeks. He received a fair bit of attention and struggled to work his way into the game."

John Jorgensen (four disposals)
"Tried hard up forward on a tough day for tall forwards and was often outnumbered in our forward line."

RichmondvSandringham-23688.jpg

Matt Bartlett (four disposals, four tackles)
"It was a pretty quiet day for Matt. He had a few good efforts on defence but will look to impact more next week."

Will Bravo (three disposals, three tackles)
"Attacks the contest hard but would like to have a greater offensive input."

Nathan Oakes (three disposals, three tackles, two clearances)
"Was badly corked in the third quarter and struggled to run out the game, but had a couple of good moments early in the match".

Couldn’t possibly play RCD seriously

Based on his first 2 ressie games, absolutely., Riley ave 20 disposals, 10 tackles and 6 clearances.
I'd love stack in but he didn't play last week cause of covid close contact. Sonsie looks good but don't think he'll debut this week but then again he may!

Dion a good chance to be back according to Peter Burge

Physical performance manager, Peter Burge, provides Richmond Media with the latest injury report.

Dylan Grimes, hamstring

"Dylan will be sent for scans today (Tuesday) to check the severity of the injury. It's a fairy stock-standard type hamstring injury, running at reasonable high speed. He noticed it in the third quarter and came off the ground. It's really unfortunate for Dylan and for us. The last two months, Dylan's training has been interrupted quite frequently with various things. In January, he had a calf injury off the Christmas break and then he hurt his ankle in training, then he had COVID in the pre-season, then hurt his thumb... It's fair to say he's been very interrupted. His preparation hasn't been perfect, and there's no doubt that's probably played a bit of a role in this. It's just a really difficult situation, he was available to play and trained all last week, and it's not a great result for Dylan. But, we're going to do some good work in his rehab going forward and make sure we get him right and give him some consistently at training and then when he's back, we want him to stay back."

Jack Riewoldt, thumb

"Jack completed most of training at the end of last week but it was deemed by the match committee that he wasn't quite ready to go. He's training this week and if he completes training this Thursday, he'll be available for selection."

Dion Prestia, hamstring

"Dion's been really good. He's had a really good last two weeks. So, he's going to end up having only missed two games. He completed a huge session last Saturday and he's ticked all the boxes. He's worked really hard, as he did the previous couple of months, with his preparation. So, he trained today and he will train our main training on Thursday, and if that goes to plan, then he's available for selection for Saturday night."

Nick Vlastuin, hamstring

"Nick's going very well. He's now kicking the footy further with more intensity. He looked really good today... We feel like we've got over the hump there, and now it's just about consolidating and making sure we get a couple more back-to-back sessions...He won't play this week but it's looking pretty good for next week."

Kane Lambert, hip

"Kane, the last two weeks, has done our main training session. He's doing one main session per week and a light running session earlier in the week with his longer-term hip management. He'll repeat that process again this week. He's ticking a lot of boxes and it's going really well for Kane. He's getting some back-to-back sessions together and is going great which is fantastic for him."

In Jack Dion
Out Grimes Soldo

Kmac to play back to give support to the three tall backs.
Would have no hesitation dropping/resting shedda for sonsie but i know that aint gonna happen...
Of course we can make sonsie the sub and he can come on 15 mnin mark 1st quarter when dion does his hammy or gets struck by lightning or whatever...
