Changes for Round 3.

kinda hope MRJ or Mansell
Mansell maybe yeah, Junior no as I don't want JNR sitting there twiddling his thumbs I'd rather him getting more looks in the middle in the VFL.

Miller stiff. Needs more gametime. Happy with minimal changes and same fwd line

We beat GWS but they were as ordinary as ordinary gets. All that talent at the Giants and Leon still cant harness it - Ross Lyon come on down.
And our rucks were an advantage as i thought.

but we still are middle of the road.

The Saints small forwards worry me, they'll get opps. Would have loved Mansell playing as a lock down Back pocket player on their most dangerous small.
let's hope Lynchy has a good game, 4-5 goals from him might be the difference.

Agree, no long term benefit of putting Aarts back to the VFL, but there is a massive upside to seeing if MRJ can backup what he did last week.

Agree too. MRJ needs maximum game time, so that when he does make his senior return it’s as part of the named side, not the sub. Sub is what players like Aarts are on the list for.

I think there is a fair chance MRj will get the nod over Aarts for this game. It’s a relatively big game occasion and we all know a Rioli thrives in such games.

couple of comments here defining Aarts role as 'the Sub' got me thinking - which i haven't done before - about how it's really a weird role to be given ..

kind of nothing .. like a back handed compliment ..

pretty dull for the player who'd probably rather be running around in the 2s

was just about to say the same. There might be a week where Rioli can go sub, and get a rest if game time doesnt come, likewise Mansell, or any of our younger players, but really Aarts is our 'perfect' sub. He probably wont improve with more time in the VFL, i doubt his form will fluctuate much if misses game time, and he is a bit flexible, between forward and the midfield.

Will be an interesting game. Average age for both teams is 26years 3months. Only older teams for the round are Brisbane 26yr11m and Geelong , a massive 28yrs2m.
