cats caught cheating

We all love Richmond except some of us on game day threads who get pretty negative. And I don't hate all other teams, dislike some more than others.

Some of us come here for reasonable comment and insight. People can have opinions but expect comment on it if some of us disagree.

I disagree with TBR quite often and I'm sure he's fine with that too.

I totally agree and am fine with it. Just find it strange that someone would want to engage with people on a regular basis that they consistently disagree with. Each to their own i guess.

Amen to that.

Yeah, some people are contrarians for sure, I dunno about TBR - I think he just has strong opinions. If we all agreed all the time it would be pretty dull though.

If anyone is interested in some 3 ply extra soft TP, let me know.
Got a guy who can get ‘the good stuff’

I don't feel the need to carry on at any time including when someone gets stuck into other teams.
...

Given the AFL’s track record for bullshitting the public, do you think it’s reasonable to be skeptical about Geelong “self-reporting” an apparently institutionalised breach? Or do you perhaps believe that the AFL tries to be honest and transparent most of the time?

No I'm all good, I'm using the political section out of the newspaper.

Come on. This stuff is high quality A grade.
You’ll be wishing you had diarrhea 24/7 after you try it

Yep. Sadly this is also my opinion on the current AFL goons running the show.
If Hocking or Gill told me the sun was coming up tomorrow, I’ll still get a second opinion.

I like discussing footy and for me part of that is challenging people when they are wrong, or when I think they are anyway.

Getting yourself into a frenzy and suggesting a fine is too lenient or a club should lose draft picks or premiership points etc when you have no clue what the offence actually involves is just garbage posting and I am very comfortable pointing that out.

The old yeah but we love Richmond and hate everyone else isn't a free pass to just write utter garbage and turn any discussion into jingoistic nonsense. Low standards like that just turn you into bigfooty.

If Geelong's offence was trivial, why did they not come out and say that in the first place?

The trouble with the AFL is that their actions positively encourage fans to think the worst of them. If they really were transparent then they would face a lot less backlash and not just on this issue. Then again, why wouldn't the average fan be suspicious when we are constantly kept in the dark.

Who cares exactly what they did. It is the absurd headline and the potential involvement of Shocking that is the interest.

I would’ve thought the most logical penalty would’ve been to deduct the total amount overpaid from future total player payments.

$40,000 is probably close to the %10 in GST for manager fees that they’ve been overpaying each year, so unintentional or not, it’s a light penalty.

What punishment is Hocking going to get, his position is untenable? He was the Football Manager with the Cats, meaning he was in charge of player contracts. Gill can't sweep this under the carpet.

Want to have a bet on that???

Systematic cheating over an extended period.

40k is manifestly inadequate. First round pick, gone. Second round next year.
