I dislike Carlton with a passion , however again I think this shows how the footy media are just ambulance chasers , the Blues have crucial injuries, I.e Marchbank, Curow, DeKoning, Martin ,Fisher etc , have lost 2 games to the 2 best teams , however the John Elliot legacy lives on
That's why I don't watch a lot of the footy shows this season. They just jump at shadows, teams get written off week after week only for then so called experts to call it all once it's happened acting like they predicted it.

im not sure about the quality of players who they are missing, and i reckon they are still pretty ordinary, but you are right about the media. The blooze will win a game or 2 soon, and they will replace the Swans as premiership favourites.

Until they get their defensive game sorted they will continue to struggle. They also need another 3-4 top 18 players (1-2 of them being onballers who would take pressure off Cripps), Saad and Williams were never going to be the quick fix they'd hoped for.

Tough draw I reckon. Lions here, Essendon, Bulldogs, Melbourne, Hawks, Swans in Sydney, Eagles here, back to Sydney and Giants, Adelaide here, to Perth and Freo, Geelong, Pies, Nawf, Saints, Suns here, Port in Adelaide, Giants here.

I'll give them Essendon, Hawks, Adelaide here, Nawf, Suns, likely win two more and with their current two that's 9 wins max. That will freak the supporters out :rotfl1

Too true. They were above us on the ladder until recently and being talked up as a possible finalist this season. Then they failed their big test against Port. I don’t think they’re any good, but this is the same hysteria from the usual suspects.

A few mates kids are die-hard blues supporters. For their sake I hope the blues start to get their this together.

That said, I would love to beat them up in a gf!

The *only* reason I could think of for wanting Carlton to get better is that it will be more satisfying when we beat them.

Still not a good enough reason for wanting them to get better. It’s always satisfying to beat them :p
FWIW, they always think they’re good anyway if that’s any comfort :mhihi

I love watching Carlton struggle. Not bankrupt or merger or extinction struggle, just struggle.
Yeah.... watching Mark Maclure on fox lastnight and I'm sure he removed his glasses coz they were fogging up, and I momentarily felt sorry for him... then I snapped out of it and thought. .... *smile* him!

Of course its great seeing Carlton struggle. This we know.

The quandry - which is more enjoyable: Carlton's struggles or Essendon's? Or Collongwood's?

I think Essendon wins it for me.

I derive a lot of enjoyment when we beat them in second gear in round 1, and my Carlton supporting mates all trot out “well we got close to Richmond, so we must be on the up!”

Never fails to suck them in.

Cannot happen as I have them in my eight this year! Only because I like the notion of smashing traditional rivals like Carlton in front of a massive crowd.

I reckon we need to keep our powder dry on Carlton. It is round 5.
They have a lot of talent on their list, especially if they get C.Curnow back. If by the end of the year they are nowhere then either their talent doesn’t have the heart for the fight or they are poorly coached. Or both.
But I do enjoy their struggles and having them, Collingwood and Essendon with 4 wins combined so far warms the heart of a Tiger

Didn’t they play Southport?
Yes.
And lost.

From memory, Stocker is the guy that Silvani ( as the then Carlton recruitment manager) fell in love with.
In the 2018 draft he thought Richmond were going to select Stocker at pick 19,
so he live traded Adelaide for pick 18 to get Stocker.
Could be wrong, but I think Stocker cost Carlton a first in 2018 and dropped 4 or five places with their first in 2019.

We picked RCD at 19.

That's it but pick swap of firsts. With Adelaide bottoming out the trade actually didn't end up so bad for them. I wonder what the true story was but it is unlike recent Richmond to leak who our first pick might be so probably misinformation. Nevertheless I will watch on with keen interest development of both lads.

Stocker Trade
