Will Chrissy be the captain next year??

I think no.. he hasnt shown huge leadership this year on field and minorly off.. Cuz for captain for 2 years he is directing already better than others
 
It will be interesting whether Newmo keeps the job or not.
If he does I suppose it will prove that he does show good leadership qualities and wasnt just a TW favourite
 
I'd love to see it go to Lids.
Think it'll do wonders for his confidence. He has shown great consistency over the second half and is no down-hill skier.
Another pre-season, with a tough coach and he will burn it up!
 
Lids should have got it this season.

He needs the captaincy to bring out the best in him. He is sheer class and can do inspiring stuff on the field.
 
not sure about lids as captain. good player, potential to be VERY good, but is he a leader?
 
Newy will keep it or a couple of years I reckon. Allow Brett to become the player he is capable of first, then give it to him. We know Lids will get it one day, what about when hes 24 and at the peak of his powers. At 24 he can be skipper for at least 6 years.

It would ruin him........he hardly does his job now on the field.................needs a year under Hardwick.

Make Lids earn it. If he can consistently play both ways next season without a kick up the bum, then it is his the following season.

2 Jack Dyers in a row wouldn't be considered "earning it"?
 
Personally, I think we will stick with Newman until Cousins leaves the club. The only alternative is to give it to Cousins. Why?

Well I just think that Cousins is such a leader that any change now will burden the next captain. The fact is that Cousins status as a player and leader demands recognition. That player would be compared to Cousins and face immediate pressure of the highest order. Very unfair situation.

Newman was skipper before Cuz arrived and so that comparison is lessened.
 
I actually think the Thomas method of creating leaders by rotating captiancy is perfect for us at this stage; Lids or jackson next year
