Not sure I agree with Dimma on this.Learning to rot. Dimma used to say that players stuck in the VFL learn to be VFL players.
Pretty sure Kane Lambert was a VFL player for a number of years before we drafted him.

Nonsense. If it wasn’t for his bad decision last year he may have played in a premiership. On loyalty, he's been left to rot in the reserves when another club may have shown faith and given him a shot ahead of the loper. No guarantees he gets played next year either. Another club may be showing more enthusiasm and he's considering it.
I don't buy the lacked opportunity argument. Why did Chol get the green light ahead of him this year? Many would argue (and obviously the selectors agreed) that Chol showed better form at VFL level. I reckon there's a spot for him at the Tigers but he needs to grab his opportunity when it arrives. Sure, gold coast may play him more often in the short term next year but will that be a better outcome success-wise? I doubt it. He needs to consider his long term future ATM not just next season.
Like most rumours, by scribes over a few empty bottles in some barDon‘t know where this rumour has come from.
Theoretically the ruck/forward is one of the most important position on the ground.Always have been dubious about the benefits of a ruck/forward or forward/ruck position in AFL football. IMO the very best talls have clearly defined identities on the field. They are either very good rucks, KPF or KPD. So what is the true essence of CCJ....? Is he a KPD...certainly not! A KPF....don't think so. Too slow and cumbersome to be elite in that position. So then a ruck....possibly.....but we already have Nank, Soldo and young Ryan as a developing type.
Very good currency at the moment......and we need an A grade clearance machine in the guts to complement our mids!
No comparison. Chol will never come close to CCJChol = Ruck/Fwd & CJ = Fwd/Ruck is what i saw in reasoning
True, they are 12 lockers apartNo comparison. Chol will never come close to CCJ
Think so? Already very close, especially if you factor in CCJ has had ~6% more ToG. As summative evaluations, both AFL Fantasy and SC rate Chol higher. You can really only compare this season for a comparable run and number of games. No comparison. Chol will never come close to CCJ
Yep CCJ is already a better player, more consistent despite being 2.5 years younger and this year essentially being his first and 3 years less on our list. Will only continue to improve as he gets more exposure at senior level. Perplexed people still make excuses for Chol, in my opinion he's not AFL standard as he doesn't compete consistently and goes missing for too long too often. List clogger, will be 25 and his seventh year come round 1 next year.Think so? Already very close, especially if you factor in CCJ has had ~6% more ToG. Might present a more detailed response another time. But you may be right. OTOH, I reckon CCJ is definitely more the future ruck/forward, whilst Chol is potentially more a forward/relief ruck only.Yep CCJ is already a better player, more consistent despite being 2.5 years younger and this year essentially being his first and 3 years less on our list. I think in this PC AFL world, you are now branded a racist.Booooooooo

Perhaps DA. But theory sometimes bears no resemblance to reality. When is the last time one of these hybrids made an AA team?Theoretically the ruck/forward is one of the most important position on the ground.
Teams cannot carry two legitimate rucks so the hybrid becomes invaluable
We've put 4 years of development into CCJ, why offload him now when he's just starting to show what he can do. Remember that big guys normally take longer to "come on" than smaller ones & we really need someone else in the forward line for when Jack retires.Perhaps DA. But theory sometimes bears no resemblance to reality. When is the last time one of these hybrids made an AA team?
Reckon we can and should carry both Eeeevan and Nank in the team. Failing that, my preference would be to play a Follower/Grigg type although perhaps taller and stronger.
Right now CCJ has currency and I would seriously consider a trade for the right player/pick!
Of course we should not just let him go TT33, we should demand significant compensation in return! We've put 4 years of development into CCJ, why offload him now when he's just starting to show what he can do. IMO it would be negligent for us to just let him go.
If you play both our pure ruckmen, you probably have to rest one on the bench.Perhaps DA. But theory sometimes bears no resemblance to reality. When is the last time one of these hybrids made an AA team?
