Callum Coleman-Judas - extricate yourself to Nth Ballarat, you git

I just suspect that pick 20 is probably a bit too high a price for them to pay and that we’ll have to accept something less than that.
I believe it will be their pick 38 and a swap of 2nd round picks. Maybe their 20 for our 26. That feels about right to me.

A 2 Metre tall, who was a pick 20 in his draft year, with 4 years of development at the Premier club in the comp & is coming into his prime.

Pick 20 quite frankly is a steal, if North draft a "tall" at that pick they'll have to wait years to see what he MAY become. With CCJ they've got a pretty good idea.

If they dud us & try to get him for a rubbish 2 nd rounder, or worse still through the PSD they'll pay a heavy price down the track, from the Tigers & possibly other clubs too.

Pick 20 is what he's worth, but I'd rather keep him.

No bitterness there at all. A few around here should take note. Our club is bigger than any player and will move on from this and thrive.
Riewoldt's likely happy that 2 of his rivals to take his spot next year are gone. No pressure to retain his spot

A future 2nd round pick?
Would set us ok for next years draft, or we could on trade it.

Yep, because both of those players were such a threat to him.

I recall that when Knights went to Essendon he basically forced out Lloyd for their next generation forward Jay Neagle. Didn’t work out so well.

Games are earned not gifted because it’s “your turn”.

Is he going to North to play ruck?
To a club where their current ruckman hasnt missed a game for 4 years, and plays his best when he rucks 90% of the game?
Seems an odd choice.

But i dont reckon you can blame him for going to a club that is offering him close to $2m, and pretty much guaranteeing his career will last at least another 4 years. (it may indicate he lacks a little confidence in his own future though.)

In fairness, Goldstein is six years older than our first choice ruckman so if that's why he has left it doesn't seem unreasonable especially when you are getting a longer contract on more money. I just hope we get some form of compensation and it will be ironic if Chol gets us a better pick. Like most others I am disappointed he is going but if you take the emotion out of it you can see it makes sense for him from both a football and financial sense.

Coleman Jones would have taken his spot next year undoubtedly. He wouldn't even need to improve to do it either

Neagle wasn't up to it, but Lloyd was offered a contract that would've made him Essendon's highest-paid player. He just didn't want to move out of the goal square and retired out of spite.

Imagine if Jack told Hardwick he wasn't moving from FF in 2014? Can't have the tail wagging the dog.

Trade period starts Oct 4th.
Expect paperwork to be lodged then.
Deals can be done anytime but that's when it becomes "official".
Sure, but do we know that CCJ has asked the club for a trade to #lolNorf? Or it is still agent leaked media guesswork?

Well there have been a few articles linked here in the past few pages of this thread with quotes from Jack Riewoldt stating that he has spoken with CCJ and he has told him he will be requesting a trade. So its not only media guesswork now.

Jeez - just when I was resigned to losing a bloke I wanted to keep - now you’re giving me hope.
Hope can be a bastard - at least I when remember those 37 years when it was all we seemed we have.

Just heard Jack interviewed talking about how CCJ wants to go. I guess that's as official as we can get before the trade bell rings.

I think our list management team really rate Mate Colina and think in a short space of time he will give us some unique and exciting attributes that CCJ can never give.
CCJ will be a good player but not a game changer. Adequate ruck and reasonable forward but not elite at either. Mate has size, strength and smarts.
Watch this space.
