Callum Coleman-Judas - extricate yourself to Nth Ballarat, you git

We have one good developing tall in Balta by my reckoning. Would be a disaster to lose him IMO.

I don't see CJ as anatural replacement for Jack. Very different players. He's closer to Lynch.
It's a dilemma. Getting the feeling he'll be elsewhere. If so I hope we're well compensated.
Would suggest that he does not even fit the mould of a true key forward. We need to trade in order to replenish the area of greatest need....our mids. Our midfield stars are ageing and we need to inject both class and at least 1 clearance beast in order to match the Dees and Dogs moving forward.

I guess it comes down to either finding a place for him (as a 3rd KPF/2nd ruck) and making it work - or he goes and we use it to upgrade a mid. I prefer the former but suspect that we'll get the latter - whether we like it or not.

I want to hold onto CCJ. Play him down back for a while and he may learn some things to help improve his forward work.
It would be handy to have a swingman big guy that could play both ends of the ground.

If we let CJ go, and that has been rumoured all year, it will be because we think we can do better, or already have. I like Ryan. I'm pretty sure RFC has a big opinion. Oh, and Balme is saying Soldo is flying.

Nank, Soldo, Mabs (reserve) and Ryan developing then Colina. That's a ruck stockpile of appropriate development. BTW Ryan will probably make a ruck/forward if he goes on.

If we let CJ go it's probably because Ryan is a satisfactory developing Ruck/Fwd who is later in development. And possibly a better prospect in the club's estimation. And Soldo is expected to be right.

Just looking at the draft prospects, Joe Amiss, ideal JR replacement if we lose CCJ. Thoughts?

If the flurry of mail about Chol to the Bongers is true, does that change any of your thoughts, Legend? Perhaps make us fight harder to keep CCJ?

Consider the source. There's a flurry of something but I doubt it's mail.

Caro goes whack on Footy Classified. She said he owes the club and needs to repay the faith by re-signing.

I'm just trying to read the action, Torpster. But no. My take is that if we punt CJ we rate Ryan (not Chol). So if Mabs goes that's ok.

But the club may be still working on CJ. vvvvv

Interesting, SA. Much as Tiger fans get down on Caro, every now and then she does some important work for the club. (Her work on Alex Rance when he was first mooted to go on mission was outstanding.) And, if she's making noise about CJ taking the Richmond (lesser) money I think tat might be the case.

Perhaps the situation is more about TPP, money, than I've allowed. Maybe we do want to keep our options open.

Correct he's the obvious replacement for Lynch. I've seen enough to think he'll be a good forward. And with question marks over Lynch's body I really hope we keep CJ.

I have done zero form, razor. I'll take the tip from you.

FWIW on young Jack Riewoldt the draft prospect he looked very smart as a youth. Fuhreak. When we get into the Clark thread footy IQ will be a big deal. Footy IQ. And elite athleticism. Jack Riewoldt carved a historic career based on his brilliant IQ and his leap.

I'll have a look at your man, razor.

Boing!

If Soldo is right to go come Round 1, I actually cant see how we fit CJ in the team.

Nank and Soldo the two rucks. Jack and Lynch our two tall forwards (with one of the rucks resting down there). Including CJ as well would make us too tall.

Im sure he would get games going by the injury track record of our talls, but if all fit he probably isnt best 22 next season.

Does jack on a wing make sense - like late career Richo? Not sure he has the tank though. But certainly gives a release from backline and will be a better user than Pickett or Macintosh.

Would rather Jack playing anywhere in forward 50 more like a HF
IMO Jack dont have the speed of Richo or tank to run up and down wing

Jack as a high half forward who gets the short pass (from a stand mark) around the 70m and then passes into our forwardline.

JR as a roaming half forward like he was meant to be

That may well be the case.
Couple that with doubts over Soldo's recovery & Nank's ongoing injury issues it may be very wise to keep him.
We can afford to offload Chol but to lose two developing talls would leave a gap for sure.
