Bye Bye Jack Higgins!

In hindsight seems as though he was taken higher in the draft than his footballing traits show.

Yeah I picked up on some unfriendliness, when we have played against other ex tigers , plenty of smiles and jokes ,

With Higgins there was very little of that , if anything our guys seemed to enjoy tackling him hard ,

Very odd

It could be many reasons.
1. Higlet initiated the transfer, not the other way around.
2. Maybe his last few halftime jokes weren't funny
3. How did he cope locked up in quarantine?
4. How did he depart the club? Did he scamper off without much of a goodbye or did he talk to all the players and show some sadness?
5. He was only at the club a couple of years. Ellis, Butler, Conca, Markov had been around for a while and would have built stronger bonds.

Doesn't matter at the end of the day. We loved him for a while. The jokes, the speeches, the goal of the year. Good luck to the lad.

That's what I was amazed at too.

All respect to Higgo but I think the club noticed that he probably didn't follow club protocol much (i.e. didn't care where he played as long as he played footy) and was a bit on the immature side.
Bit of inside mail. Jack and his Dad weren’t happy unless Jack was the star of the team and recognised accordingly. Would sook it up if he wasn’t. The move to the Saints more than likely initiated by Higgins manager. Even before his brain surgeries he had fallen out of best 22. Just a run of the mill footballer with no real tricks.

Higgo was struggling to get in the firsts so he went elsewhere for better opportunities.

While it does wrangle a bit that we supported him through his surgery and then he left, I don't think he was going to be regular 22 so good luck to him. Hope he does well but not against us.

Yeah totally different to the way Ellis was received when we played GC last year, he's still clearly a very good mate to some of our players, not sure Higgo is.
Ellis partied with the Tigers after the grand final last year. He is still very close with our guys.

Was it 2 goals he kicked in the first quarter? - at from longer out than I remember him kicking for us
I was getting worried that he’d have a blinder but fortunately he reverted to his norm
Was never going to be a regular for us

Thats my point though. You can see the boys have no animosity towards Brando, I think they'll have the same sort of reception for Oleg too. The same can't be said for Higgo, was a much colder reception than what they give the other boys.

Not sure if it was just me, but Butler is friendly with the guys, but Higgins seemed like he never played for us.
Noticed that as well. After the game there didn’t seem the customary chats with his ex team mates. Wasn’t given much back from the Richmond players

Loved Jack but to say he was starved of opportunities doesn't sit right.
Work hard and ask KMac for advice.

Correct. I'm sure there's a lot of oppo players who would love to be at the RFC atm. Work your butt off and force your way into the team, don't scurry off when it's getting too hard. KMac is a good example, oozes character.

No room for bigheads. He got more than his share of coverage at a big club. Bit different to the minnow mediocrity of St.Kilda.

Jack certainly has nothing to complain about. If he's bitter about his departure then that says more about him than Richmond.
