Other than occassional good moments he has not played well the last few weeks at all.

Last night was his first pass mark for the year IMO.
It was his first game this year where his good outweighed the bad. Probably even top 10!

Problem is, he needs to play like that EVERY week......or he's just keeping the wing warm until Grigg is back.

If you didn't think he played well against Port you have extremely and possible unrealisticly high standards

I know from a source very close to the horse's mouth, that North were after him last year, but they got Polec and Hall. They never put an offer on the table for Brandon and he never toured their facilities (unlike the rumours suggest).
North aren't into him at the moment, as they have their outside mids covered now. Freo made a huge play for him two years ago, they may come again.

Watching on TV not always the best but thought he played the outside role very well and at the right times put his body on the line when he needed to

Like the way he is taking the responsibility to kick the goal. Last year he would have tried to pass it off and stuff it up

I think North Melbourne would refrain from offering potential recruits tour of their facilities....
 
The main critique on him is similar to the ones Houli had early in his career. I watched him very closely last night as the week before I saw signs he was drifting backwards in that regard.

But last night he really proved he can bring it.

If he brings it consistently, what do you guys think is the upper range for Brando's career trajectory?

The rumours were after last season had finished. Not uncommon in the trade period for that to happen.
Unfortunately, whomever started the rumour was wrong, or being deliberately provocative.
