Ben Rutten

The Essendon players didn't play for Rutten and watching their last few matches it was plain to see. Not saying whether he should have been sacked or not but the Essendon board should be ashamed of themselves the way they handled the whole Rutten saga.
Good coaches and assistants will not enhance their reputations at that toxic club

And very well mannered and nice of you to point this out, I'm sure it was necessary.

DS
Didn't realise you were serious. Ok. Rutten's sacking was announced 30mins before you posted, hence my comment.

Gutless, if you are going to shaft someone at least do it to their face.

DS
it's despicable.. hopefully all prospective coaches blank them ...
as UK Tiger says above - are you going to want to go there ?

If they pay enough, Lyon will coach them

Looking for an experienced coach to get the most out of their playing list. Worked out well under Worsfold…

I wonder if he would come to us and work for nothing, or say a nominal $1 wage, since it would mean the druggies would have to pay him his contract out. He would be sticking it up them by working at a successful opposition club and giving them the proverbial finger, while helping the club out with its soft cap
Exactly the same strategy Daniel Ricciardo should employ, except in his case the plicks that sacked him would be up for $20 million not $600,000. Ouch

# 1 Point for 2022 - 2165pts. Forward coach Teauge correct?? Now get back Truck and throw him the back 6 !

I know what Essendon said and what Rutten said at his presser, but I think he was told yesterday that he was sacked. Body language, facial expressions, the interaction with the Tigers at the end of the game, it all had the look of someone who’d been told they were gone.
he may not have been told, but it was pretty obvious he was coaching his last game at Essendon.

i am sure there are rules against doing that, but maybe we could offer him a volunteer role, or some work experience?

Reminds me of the time when no one wanted to coach us except for Spud (RIP)

One man’s rubbish is another man’s treasure.

We have form in doing this. First Leppitsch after getting the sack at Brisbane, then Teague at Carlton and now Rutten.

I like it.
