Ben Lennon

Lennon is worth at least as much as freeman or Kennedy from the pies

He will fetch a pick about pick 25 imho

Quote which should come soon from RFC

" Ben Lennon is a star in the making and we are absolutely devastated to lose such a young and supremely talented player. If he wants to go then so be it but we are going to drive a very hard bargain for a first round draft pick who we have spent 3 years developing "

Don't tell them we've been developing him.
Might drive his price down.

We hold some cards in any potential deal as he is contracted for next year but if we were offered a pick around 20 we would be silly not to take it.

Sorry my bad. This better ?

I wanted to cut him some slack, he had glandular fever during the off season and that can really knock someone around, but then he carried on last year and we gave him a contract, now he's doing the same thing again this year. High maintenance and has never done anything to deserve it. He seems to believe he's a good deal better than he actually is, unfortunately the reality check may come at our expense when we try to offload him and no one will give us what we want for him.

I like that.
Maybe we should try to keep him now ;)

Blues second pick 23 would do it.

Then pick 23 and a player or players for Prestia.

If we come out of the Prestia deal with pick 6 still with us we have done well.

It's probally a bit unfair to judge him on this years performance, however I think his the modern AFL player , who loves the life but not the hard work. Reckon will get a good deal out of this , unless he goes Bombers ,which would suit him.

Again poor choice by FJ , not so much on talent but on attitude and want.

Pick in the 20s is what teams will pay, if not a swap of a player, will win out of this one in the end.

He can't walk to the Bombers in PSD as he's contracted.

What opportunities did he miss out on. Was never fit enough or playing well enough to play AFL this year despite his handful of games this year.

He is a giant cat, thinks he awesome but is just another kid in the long line where ability fails to meet application. Get what we can and move on.

Perhaps the most telling thing about Lennon is the fact he was drafted for a specific role, one that desperately needed to be filled and he was never good enough to fill it. Yeah he had some injuries and glandular, but the bottom line is he didn't work hard enough and despite his footskills, simply didn't have enough strings to his bow.

If he nets us a pick in the 30s I'll be over the moon.

Agree he also has a truck load of attitude and ego be happy to pack his bags

If I recall correctly, Lennon was endorsed pre-draft by a group of senior players in the cool gang. He therefore arrived anointed and entitled. That's where his problems began.
Our lack of development strategies compounded his weaknesses. Our bad for recruiting this type of player, when neither he, or we, had the right tools to get value.
In stark contrast, Sydney have developed two defenders who both came out of the rookie draft. One will be AA this year, the other I would also have in a heartbeat. I mention them because both could be considered direct opponents for Lennon on the playing field, and both would eat him alive.
He has some lovely skills, no doubt. His lack of speed however means that he can't get separation on a lead, and he lacks the workrate and physicality to work into areas of the ground that bring him into the play offensive/defensively.
Sadly, he's not the enigma he thought he was.
