After today's absolute shocker against the Hawks, surely Lennon gets to make his debut next week against the Cats.
(On a side note, I wouldn't mind a new game plan making a debut next week either.)
I would be content with the old one where we ran with the ball and kicked it into a forward line that we hadn't had time to reverse flood.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Looks like Ben is close to being selected to play against the Pussies
Love this quote from Dimma :p- “He reminds me a little bit of a (Geelong’s Andrew) Mackie type . . .
Sounds like once again Ben will need to learn playing off HB before he is tried forward ::)

There is a reason why newbies start at half back, it better for them to learn the teams game by being behind the ball and watching how it gets moved up the field, anyone can play forward that's a given and he will also find himself more in the play, learning to be in link ups, running the lines and so on, can't learn that being in a forward pocket and just waitnig for crumbs, yeah it might look good on the scoreboard but in the long run it is not benefitting the up and coming player. It's easier to learn the game with the ball moving in front of you instead of the ball coming towards you.

Perfect example is Heppell, he was put behind the ball and then when he had learnt the game progressed up to the midfield, he is still a seagull but you get my drift.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

I reckon Lennon has the character to debut against the Cats. He may not necessarily star in his first game, yet nor do I think he will be overawed by the occasion.
I think he might just show enough glimpses into his talent to see why the Tigers were so keen to recruit him.
Will most likely be named as the Sub, but would be more than happy to see him in the starting 21.

He should make his debut in the "Dreamtime" clash so he can do a Dean Polo...

I laughed, Archy. But i do believe that Lennon will be a far more accomplished player than Polo ever was.

Thanks BT, just trying to bring a bit of levity to PRE as it's been a tough start for all of us.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Cotch debuted against a Cats side at the 'G that was destroying everyone at that point - did some sublime stuff that first game including a pre-Dusty fend off on Scarlett on the wing :clap

Bring the kid in. Just don't make him the sub

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Good luck kid and congratulations on your debut.

Hope you start on the ground.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Congratulations Ben Lennon. It will be great to see him make his debut for the mighty Tigers on such an auspicious occasion for the RFC.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

The first game is always special, but this is one helluva day to start your career as a Tiger. Let's hope it's the first of many for a future Tiger champ.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

I read the news today, oh boy.
Another boy debuted in Tigerland.

Benny will be playing mind games with the Dees.
