Ben Cousins a Tiger (Merged)

Craig Cameron is starting to look like a fool. Every time he opens his mouth we end up doing the opposite thing. My guess is that this will end very badly.

I reckon it would have taken more courage to stick to their strategy and pick a young player.

Agreed. March, Cameron & co. slipped a fair way in my opinion of them over the past 24 hours. Shame after handling the rest of it so well.

I hope it works out, for all their sakes..

Congratulations RFC on a brave decision! FORTUNE FAVOURS THE BRAVE!!!

Best of luck Ben Cousins for a brilliant Tiger career ahead!

Time for the minority of us against it to jump onboard. He's a tiger now, so one of ours. Time to concentrate on the positives.

Plenty of excitement and potential upside to concentrate on.

GO TIGES in 2009!!!!

P.S: I wonder if all the fools who were ringing in saying they were tossing their membership into the Westgate on their way home after yesterday are jumping off the Westgate today in search of their memberships. :rofl

craig cameron is no fool. ur allowed to change ur mind/policy thoughts etc.
keep ur cards close to ur chest, keep ur options open. play the game. thats what he did....

Sounds like there'll be plenty of new ones to replace them DD.

I find this situation quite unbelievable but agree with the above.
Cousins will have my support as long as he keeps on a straight line.

I hope he rips it up and this move leaves egg all over my face.

Seeing 9 is out of the question... how about 45 (4+5)?

maybe the club will let him use newmo's #1, after all cuz is likely to retire before newman relinquishes the captaincy, OR, by the way some are carrying on about cuz here on PRE, he could take the #17 !!

Yeah, without question. He's a Tiger now, he has my complete support. But like ToO, I've lost some faith in Cameron & Co after this debacle.

How cares if he misleads the media? He is there to do a job to build the best possible/available list for our club, not to answer to the twits at the HUN. I don't care if he blatantly lied to Barrett, just as long as he got the outcome he wanted.

In picking Cousins, there's no doubt that we have the best available mature age player. We've also made the only logical decision that gives us the best chance of reaching finals in 2009.

Instead of the negativity that flys around this site - what about the positive outcome that is very possible.

Cousins stays clean and with a desire to regain his status as one of the game's premier midfielders, returns to near brilliant form. Foley, Deledio, Cotchin etc all benefit from having Cousins in the team - both seeing close up how a Champion prepares, learning from him (footy wise that is) and having the tagging heat turned down slightly during games. Coughlan returns from injury to add to the mix.

Off field, we have record membership. Team makes the finals and the sleeping Tiger wakes up. Debt is reduced - additional funds are released to bolster recruiting and player development (two of our archilles heals for a long time) and finally we have a club that our kids can be proud of going into the future.
