Basketball

The KATless T'Wolves off to a stinker against the Lakers. Davis lit.them.up!

Mixed start by the Aussies so far.
Daniels get a plus- 15pt and great D.
Simmons and Giddey not so much.
Ingles and Mills probably as expected.

Landale got court time which is a win, but I think Adams is back soon, so that may not last.
Reath and Thybulle only got garbage minutes.

Meh. Has a good game every 10 or so. Don't think he is worth the effort. Do you keep Dow or cut him? :))

Will add.. as a Cs fan, I hope he proves me wrong!
He has shot 18-29 from 3 over the last 3 games.
That is better than "a good game every 10 or so".

Daniels the best of the Aussies for sure. Not so great yesterday.
Giddey starting to find his groove. Excellent in the win yesterday.
Simmons looks to have no confidence in his body still. Just won't attack the rim.
Just read he's out with back management. He's broken.

Great to see Johnny Furphy get some burn with the Pacers. Great kid, outstanding family and was a very good footballer. Only 19 and 6"9 and moves like a gazelle. Plays fearless.

And Alex Ducas, I'm deep into the NBA science and AUstralian basketball and I'd never bloody heard of the kid, next minute he is debuting for the Thunder. The number of Aussies that have played in the NBA grows every year. Still find it amazing that Issac Humpries made it the big dance.

There has been 30 Aussies play in the NBA. Most in the last 10-15 years. But as a kid growing up, that number seemed impossible.

Yes to Daniels, and good to see Giddey getting some form back.

I reckon you are a little harsh on Simmons. He was never going to play every game.
He has been serviceable, but still lacking confidence on the court. But i think there have been baby steps this year. Hopefully they continue.

I think there are 14 on lists this year.

And yes Ducas has gone from not being drafted, or ever really talked about, to getting court time (albeit junk time) with one of the best teams in basketball. From Geraldton of all places!

Yep, he has hit a good vein.

I just don't see the hype, and was mostly responding to Reds dig..
Fair enough. He is a bit player on the best team in the NBA. If he continues to be serviceable he will continue to play.
And yes, your comment lit the fire in him for some career best form!

You must have missed these plays from the other day.
Coach asked him to take 10-15 shots before the game. He took 3.
He's clearly not right. Nets playing a lot better today without him.

Yeah, ive seen them. As said he still lacks confidence near the ring, but i think he is starting to play something resembling ok basketball, which is an improvement.
He will never be the guy who made the 76ers consider trading Embiid again, but he may be able to reach the level that gets him another contract- probably as a centre who can play fast.
