Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

We need outside runners. I would move him to a wing to see if his form improved. When in form he makes us a lot better team.

Houli is great by hand and great 40 mt+ pass any thing under 40 mt he can butcher it.

Essendon supporters had a few nicknames for him, especially when the pressure was on, a couple that come to mind are 'Bachar the Butcher' and 'Hospital Hand-pass Houli'. Nothing that is being said in this forum now have not been said innumerable times previously by Bomber fans. Still at least he didn't cost us as much as Jordon McMahon.

Was that before or after he walked out on them, those a holes would sell their own grandmothers

Looks the perfect wingman to me. Great by hand and foot, loves to carry the ball. Also, his weaknesses one on one would be dramatically reduced out there.

Agree.

every team needs receivers, and that's what he is, could be deadly running on the wing.

I saw him do one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen on a football field on Saturday.

In the last quarter *smile* was fumbling the ball on the MCC wing/HFF and Houli ran right past him to pick up his man. I had to rewind and watch it again as I couldnt believe it. He was so close he virtually brushed him on the way past, yet instead of laying a tackle or better still picking the ball up he ran right past it.

I have never seen a softer footballer in a Tigers jumper and that includes Jordan.

Can you provide the specific quarter and time?

8:40 to go in the last quarter - game on the line.

I couldn't believe it when it happened as well.
I admit I have issues with Houli but even his bigest admirers will cringe when they see it. I understand he is running with Barlow on that play but that is no excuse. He had to go for the ball.

Not as bad, but also pathetic was his attempt at kicking the ball in mid-air 1min 40 into the last quarter instead of taking possession when he had a clear run at the ball. Instead of having a clear run and kick deep into our forward line it is turned over at half back and a couple of mins later we are 15 pts down.

It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall in the review this week when they show those 2 instances.

Oh dear Lord. I just saw the 8.40 passage. Cringe-worthy.

hate to say it but Bachar is now best 16-22, and fast heading towards being pushed out by youth and list depth.

Took the opportunity to watch the footage and just as you have described it Houli runs past the ball and yes he had ample opportunity to at least put pressure on the Docker. Instead he attempts to man up on his opponent a few metres away.

Disturbing piece of footage on how Houli lacked awareness or failed to attempt to attack a loose ball.

Many errors were made on Saturday by many of our players.

its a shame, he has great disposal. i really hope he can get on top of his hardness issues. have seen little things start to creep into his game which are concerning. i think it will eventually be the end of him if he doesn't.

Would make him sub this week, still think he is better than anything we have at Coburg but he needs a serious wake up call imo. It's not a knee jerk reaction to the loss either, has been poor for over a month but our good performances have saved him from more scrutiny.

Yup. He may also be in trouble when Grimes is back...

A real test for Hardwick this week.

Does he align with his clear rule as stated a number of times including his very first press conference on appointment as coach that only players that put their head over the ball and win their own ball will get a game under him. In which case Houli has to be dropped. Or alternatively does he back a downhill skier to get an easy run at it against GWS pick up 25 uncontested possies and get a bit of confidence back that he badly needs.

I will tip the later, however, it should be the former.

Nothing like an over simplification to make yourself sound right, eh MM?

Clear liability in backline atm. Just not doing simple defensive things well enough and allowing his opponent too much room.
Playing like he doesn't want to be back there. Get him up the field or get him out of the side.
