Brilliant season by Bachar and a brilliant pick up for us.

4th in the Best and Fairest. Amazing first season, for what a PSD pick.

Put the doubters in their place too. Well played! Quality person too.

Leysy will put his hand up as a doubter.

Great year.

Biggest suprise was his pace. Looked pedestrian at Essendon.

Dunno if it was just leysy or Bachars confidence But it actually seemed to grow as the year went on with us.

I was pro Houli but his pace shocked me too.

And I still think his best footy is ahead of him. He just got better as the year went on. Should play another 150 games for the Tigers.

I was in that doubting group but he's smashed those doubts. Hardest runner in the side and showed plenty of ticker in thwe 2nd half of the year. A solid citizen. Kudos to those PRE'ites whose support never wavered - LB&C, SCOOP, T'bob and others.

They should've uploaded his speech to the RFC site with the others. By far the best of the lot.

Great to see a guy who rewards a club that shows great faith in him. He is going to be a really solid player for us, hopefully when we are back up there in the finals. Teams will target Newy and Lids across half back but Houli can run amok across half back when free. Hopefully with Batchelor developing further and Connors fit up and running, there we have some real quality coming of halfback.

Really? Did you go Jimmy boy?

Give us a run down.

Interestingly he said in his speech "i was promised to be playing in the midfield but have enjoyed learning/playing down back blah blah" or words to that effect. He said it in a very droll/dry way so i couldn't tell if it was a dig or good natured ribbing...

Probably the funniest, especially the part where he promises his wife that Baby Houli will soon arrive one day.

Sounded like he got the loudest cheers from the crowd.

Helps when you have the support and confidence of the coach and his offsiders, which is something he didn't appear to have at Essendon. Takes the game on, not afraid to make mistakes, what a difference that can make to a player.

Oh, missed this.

Nah wasn't there (wish I was) was watching on video stream. Houli just talked about coming over from Essendon and getting a chance also about his muslim links, etc. Speaks very well.
