Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

I find myself tearing up at the prospect that Bachar may never pull on a Tigers jumper again.

Three grand finals where we saw aspects of his capability as a player and many years where we saw his unparalleled capacity as a human have cemented him in my mind as a legend of the RFC, but also as a legend of the AFL. Most importantly as a wonderful, inspiring and courageous man.

I hope you get back on the park Bachar as I'd love to see you run around again.

Bachar Houli is an all-time great of the Richmond Football Club and the best running half-back-flanker of his generation.
Too right! 2017 & 2019 Houli like Dusty were at their best and ensured we won both flags. 2020 no one at this club can say anything bad about him, through pain, he played his role and helped the team. For what you brought to Richmond, done for the Mighty Tigers, I and many others salute you. I tend to agree, it may be curtains on his career. Boy! What a player!

He was a gun mid and obviously our run out of defence during our premierships. Universally loved by all. Not sure if it's his last game but he sure as hell doesn't deserve bit to end like this.

To this day I still reckon he was BOG in the 2017 GF.

If this is it, then well done of a great career. Legend!!!

He was crucial, and brilliant, in the first half of the 2017 GF when the game was on the line. Dusty was awesome, well, he was Dusty, but it was damned close. Can't say Dusty didn't deserve the Norm Smith but if Houli had got the Norm Smith he also would have been a very deserving winner.

Houli has been huge on field and off, great man, great footballer, great Richmond Man.

I do feel his body is letting him down too often now and I think he might be at the point where retirement is the only option, although playing in the VFL would be good. His ankle injury was pretty much in front of me and I was surprised when he got up, it looked nasty.

Recover well Bachar.

One of the Tiger Greats. How we won 3 Premierships with Houli in the side will confuse many many people. Probably the biggest whipping boy the club had until Sept 30th 2017.

Thanks must go to Essendon for one of the greatest recruiting coups in AFL/VFL history.
Bachar..the ultimate Richmond Man. Will most certainly be missed.

yes who said Essendon can’t produce premiership players :rotfl2- is he the last player to pass through Essendon and win a flag?

Houli is a tiger legend on and off the field and is held is such high regard - I have loved his work.

I know some will be rejoicing but he's a huge loss. Usually the one that sets the tone with his hard running off half back.

Just when we need more run in our game we lose one of our best runners.

*smile*
Disagree. There is a balance of transition. We need young people with pace, aggression and skills. The sooner we find them the longer the dynasty lasts!

Thanks for the memories Bachar, you helped rebuild the great culture and fabric of the club, and were a key pillar in bringing this goliath of a club out of the doldrums both on and off the field.

More than happy for Dustin to win 3 or another 3. Just thought Bachar was slightly better on the day. At the end of the day who cares as long as they got the other medal...a million times more valuable.

Not sure about that. We had a long list of whipping boys during that time

Maybe he should stay on our list next year to essentially become a development coach a la Tyson Goldsack at Port. Can then have the possibility of a farewell game too.
