Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

How good is it to have this bloke back? Tough game to come back in last week after sitting in freezing Vic for months then head straight to the Darwin sauna. Looked good from what I saw tonight. Seems to still be getting better with age, could be another Burgoyne-type career if the body holds up

Bashar played a great game last night I don't know his stats but his willingness to put his body in harms way for the sake of the team was great.

Keep it up Bashar. :)

Bachar's smother early to kill a Cat forward entry was deluxe. So many times you see guys do a half assed smother attempt (looks like they are trying to smother but they really aren't), we had a couple of big smothers last night. When we do the 1% ers, we are up and about.

He had a couple of real important physical interventions last night. His committment was great. The break has freshened him will have a big impact this finals series.

Fit, outside runners with Bachar’s physique seem to have aged pretty well on-field over the past 20 years.

He’s the type of athlete who’s body just might remain competitive until he’s 36/37 (if he wants to).

Anyone over 30 is a year-by-year proposition of course, but it’s possible his body could let him play in AA form or near-AA form for a few more years. Every year we get now is a bonus to the club.

We all love Houli, he runs so hard and fights for every ball. Will he go on next year? 33 next May

I admit that on my master plan he’d have been phased out gradually over the last season and this - and that Paddy Naish would have been eased into that spot already. Alas thatjust doesn’t seem likely now.
Even earlier this year when the Egg showed a bit in a couple of games I thought he could become Houli’s replacement.

But Bachar deserves another year for sure
