Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

Re: Bachar "The Beard" Houli

At least wait until after the final H & A game before sitting in judgement on him. Has to be rusty.

Stats passed the test but on what I saw, Bash looked very slow. Very rusty.

The perfect game to come back in but Father Time is coming.

If only one of Grigg and Houli get retained, he is in trouble.

Bash would need a strong finish to 2018 to make sure both get a gig next year.

Agree. For an experienced player just seems to panic unnecessarily at times.

Thankfully for us he played the game of his life in the GF last year.

Worked into it really well and was one of our best in the second half. Big Game Bachar is back.

Surely you jest, after last nights game maybe his nickname should be 'butcher' .

Clearly his worst game for over a year.

Thought his run between the arcs was invaluable and helped to keep Hawthorn in a state of siege.

Agree. Thought he was horrendous. Was always generous to Bach and a fan generally, but last night saw what many others did for so long now. He is a panic merchant and pressure of finals footy is often a liability. Lost count how many times he just handballed to noone to avoid body contact. Never seen it as often as last nite.

I still think he offers more than we lose out but sheeesh he was bad last nite.

I'm hanging my hat on that too.
Last year he was very flaky at times with that tendency to give off a handball to a bloke in a worse position - maybe to just get rid of the ball himself.
And there were elements last night too of minor panic.
But his good is bloody good and as you say he put it all together last year in the biggest game of all.

Tend to agree, Y&B
Houli was in the action last night, but he did butcher the ball a fair bit.
That was a pretty rusty game from him, but I reckon he will be primed and ready to go in the PF.
I still love him for his great GF performance last year. Just a cracker of a game he played, particularly in the first half when the heat was really on.

Yes good news the Great Houli signing on with Griggy & Oleg putting pen to paper as well. Broad & Towner yet sign. Do not want to lose any of them but Towner might miss out.

Rest assured Broady signed a 2 year extension in April, wasn't announced but comes from an impeccable source

Re: Bachar "The Beard" Houli

If he calls for the ball off a teammate who is 50 out again, i will run on the ground and take him off.
When was the last time he scored a goal from that play?

Yet he was arguably still one of our best. 1 year deal fine as it is for Grigg.

Far from our best on the night. Not unhappy with the extra year but would like to see Markov improve enough to take his spot
