I have been a very strong critic of Gus's & of the opinion that he is as big an uncoordinated goose that we could possibly have at the tiges
& the first I would get rid of. Went to the game - & have watched the replay (love that rewind button on the mystar box). Thought he was terrific on Sandilands. Sandilands is a monster (watch out for the young boy at Gold Coast btw) & he is just sensational. I had him as my best player overall in the match. Without him & to a lesser extent Munday & Pavlich - the result could have been verrrrrrry ugly indeed for Freo.

Gus absolutely busted his balls I thought - he kept plugging away against a bigger & stronger opponent. He did something a bit different to date & presented as a target around the ground which was an area I have been critical of him & felt he does not do enough. I thought the umpires did not help his cause & now understand why, after listening to the commentary on the replay as apparently, Harvey had put in a complaint of sorts in the last few weeks - where he felt Sandilands was not receiving his due. Well...he got a couple of softies yesterday. Methinks it's time for us to have a chat to the umpires too - have a little look at an appalling hold on Riewoldt in the second quarter etc, etc, etc.

Gus did a very fine job yesterday & Vickery too is continuing to show signe of what he may become.

Great effort Gus.

Well said Jimbob. Played a big part. Beaten in the tapouts but kept going all game and had some influence himself.

He is utterly useless. Today has been an abomination of a game - we must have someone better as this is costing us games.

Bang on.

Nothing against Gus but simply not AFL standard. Hudson schooled him today.

Just doesnt have the tools.

hes not the best ruck going around but geez i expect better from you navy than agreeing with an idiot talking *smile*.

Sorry lids and bling did you not see the game ? He is absolute garbage with his tap work and his lack of ability around the ground. He is costing us and if you fail to see that then getting your eyes checked. He is soft and is not up to it but if you want to put up with that then good luck to you.

watched a live feed on the net. so yeah watched it all. hudson was in rare form today and gus was well beaten but his game was no worse than his output all season. things dont change depending on the result of the game so wake up to yourself

Gus is no good blinger.

Even on the odd occassion where he wins the tap, it still goes to the other team.

And he's absolutely hopeless around the ground, particularly defensively.

Gus keeps his eyes on the opposing ruckmen until he's 1 foot away from 'em!

When he does tap it, he taps it to no one!!

I like Gus, but that's what he was doing today!

Gus was really poor today. I thought Hudson was worth an extra 4-5 goals to them. Just wish we had a good replacement for him.

Nothing against Gus but he provides nothing around the ground and even his tap work leaves a lot to be desired

I would prefer Browne to get a crack

hes the best we got and we know what we are getting. i suspect our midfielders need a wake up call before he does.

Browne is far from the finished article but can be no worse. Gus wasnt even competitive.

Brownes been playong well week in week fir coburg posting numbers gus could never achieve at that level and deserves his chance.

We need to trade for a ready made bursting to get out of his 2nds team somewhere......Mumford like.
