Is on reasonable terms with the players it seems. Was out helping Grimes on his farm a few weeks ago.
Comeback shock: Rance on verge of big club return
If I were the Chief, I'd be asking him for the $850K back. I'm quite sure Alex's lawyers, Snatch, Grabbit & Run, will have a defence prepared for him, paid for by the Mormans.
Long time out of the game. Still a strange decision if true. Why wouldn’t he do it with the Tigers & think about having a go with his mates in 2022 in what will be the last ride for many.
Wishful thinking.
It that works out, and he ends up universally regarded as better than Rance, he’d be the greatest defender in the history of the game
I don't care about getting beaten.
It was that 20 minutes (similiar to game against port or Adelaide where he needed someone to wake up him up)
His attitude that night cost us.
DeGoey ripped him a new one and soon as he went onto to Cox, game over.

We have no idea of Rance's personal situation.
His academy & gym business would have been affected as much anyone by covid. It's a tough time for many out there.
He's a professional athlete & tbh if he's able to make a couple of hundred grand at 32 years of age then who am I to judge?
An opportunity comes up at Essendon after basically 3 years out of the game? There may not be one at RFC.
It would be weird seeing him play for another team kinda like Jordan for the Washington Wizards.
However whatever happens he'll also be a part of Richmond folklore as being a key reason our footy club broke a 37 year drought.
Anyway we shall wait & see.

Do you take a Rance who hasn’t played for 3 years - has one or two years left maybe
Do you tare a young Balta, who hasn’t peaked yet and has arguably 8 to 10 years of elite footy left.
One has explosive pace, the other an aging body.
Not sure their is room for both unless an Astbury is pushed out and we don’t do that at the tigers - treat our stars with respect.
Rance was great for the tigers but his time is done, we have moved on and in the meantime continue to collect flags without him.

It makes sense given he burnt his relationships with us..
Balta has got the time still and development don't forget Rance took a while and he still wasn't a great one on one defender.
You're talking rubbish. Half the team commented on this Insta post from just a few weeks ago wishing Alex well. They'll be at Premiership reunions together for years to come whatever happens.
