Nice ones too smasha, CMT and NYT. The Beatles actually had some amazing covers. I am a big fan of the Revolver cover too.
Speaking of which check out this blog by a designer I stumbled on who's taken it upon himself to bring album covers to life. Awesome idea.

Another I was fascinated by as a young fella from around the same era.
This is a great album cover. The concept. The pompous nature, the attitude. The statement. Love it.
If you bought the album Ænima by Tool when it first came out you may have got the cd which had what is called a lintecular cd case which creates an effect when moved, as shown above.
You could also place and view the other 'interesting' album artwork behind the face of the cd case with similar effect.
