Adem Yze

subtle dig at Dimma?

I doubt it, he doesn't seem to that sort of fella. He said earlier in the interview that they (the coaching group) only had a short time to implement the changes that they wanted & if the players hadn't learnt them, then the coaches hadn't taught them properly. It was squarely on the coaching group not anyone else.

That article doesn't take enough account of the development some of our 2-4 year players will hopefully show. We may not be particularly competitive this year with a limited draft hand and a new coach with new game style. But writing Richmond off in 2024 is just lazy, I could have written that crap in my sleep.

I'm not buying into Yze on the back of 1 press conference.
I need to see endeavour and transformation in the way we play.
I want a McCrae buy in by the entire group before I start patting him on the back.
Results will come if the group is united.
Lets be honest we've had one successful coach over the past 40yrs.
Every coach no matter what club comeout with positive vibes etc.
Ooze i wish him well but the question has to be asked why he was overlooked previously.

I agree. But he was my preferred option over McQualter. You can only select what's available. We had a few say they weren't interested. Leppa Pkye etc
We needed an outside/ new voice.
The kids have an option now, they will get opportunities. By the end of next year Yze will have a better idea who stays and who goes.
14 or 15 out of contract. There will be alot busting ass to impress.

He's still in the honeymoon period. This is the best time for any new coach.

Kingsley was overlooked multiple times and we all saw what he did with GWS this year. In 2022, Kingsley just beat Yze for the Giants job and the Bombers wanted an experienced coach so went with Brad Scott over Yze. Not fussed that he’s missed a couple of jobs

I'm sure we've all missed out on jobs we've applied for, learnt from that experience & it's helped us when we applied for other roles.
Nothing to see here imo.

As expected yet more negative comments from so called experts. let's prove them wrong.

RICHMOND

IN: Jacob Koschitzke (Hawthorn), Oliver Hayes-Brown (Cat B rookie), Sam Naismith (delisted free agent, formerly Sydney) Liam Fawcett, Kane McAuliffe (draft)

OUT: Bigoa Nyuon (North Melbourne), Ivan Soldo (Port Adelaide), Trent Cotchin, Jack Riewoldt, Robbie Tarrant, Jason Castagna (retired), Kaelan Bradtke (delisted).

AVAILABLE LIST SPOTS: 1

It’s hard to see much automatic improvement in Richmond’s list based on the players brought into the club. Koschitzke struggled for much of 2023 at Hawthorn, Naismith has been in fine form in the VFL but hasn’t played AFL since 2020 and the others will likely take time. Riewoldt will be missed, Cotchin was probably done and the Tigers got nothing out of Tarrant, Nyuon or Castagna this year. While Soldo was probably surplus to requirements, he was still a useful back-up ruck. A bunch of second and third year Tigers will need to step up for Adem Yze to make finals in year one. The Tigers have opened the doors to East Perth’s Mitch Schofield and Richmond VFL’s Mykelti Lefau to claim the open spot on the list.

VERDICT: List has gone backwards for 2024
Our version of Godees Frizztt!

Agree, 2024 will be a year of big change and opportunity at the Club!

I think we ll see the benefit of the 2y development into the 21 draft hand , they are physically ready to go now , with opportunities beckoning the rest is up to them , looking forward to see it unfold

AFL is a follow the leader competition. It follows trends because there are trends to be followed. He missed the boat during the flirtation with the older managerial type coach which was abandoned immediately after Noble failed at Kangas and then swung back to young first time coaches who have extensive assistant experience. In reality the Tigers job was only the 2nd job he was seriously considered for and he was perfectly experienced to take on. Hardly a negative for me.
Gotta say the players looked happy and motivated so Yze has made a good start.

All I want is a game plan that our players can comprehend and achieve actual results. This season saw too many players too concerned with looking out for opposing players but had no idea where the ball was. Balta certainly was the top of the tree in that respect.Someone posted training drills where the players were to stop opposing players from going for marks etc...........How about encouraging players to actually outmark and outplay the opposition??????????Or is that too 70's ...........................................
