Caroline Wilson and Tony Shaw (along with Walls and Tony Leonard) just "named the names" who they reckon should be culled from our list.
The first five were basically retirements
- Bowden
- Brown
- Johnson
- Pettifer
- Simmons

Then there were the ones thay reckon should be delisted although they accept there are some still on contract
- Coghlan
- Hughes
- Hislop
- King
- McMahon
- Oakley-Nichols
- Pattison
- Polak
- Shultz
- Thompson

plus they discussed - but there was no real agreement on
- Tuck
- Polo

thompson hasnt played a game for us, surely we r gonna play him before we delist him.
im happy to delist or trade the rest of them although i would like to hang on to jake "the push up" king and maybe hislop but not really fussed. we need a few mongels and i think jake has potential to be a good midfield tagger......similar to steven baker and libba. relentless and annoying, he could be moulded into a quality tagger.

Not a bad list, I'd have this as mine:

- Bowden
- Brown
- Johnson
- Pettifer
- Simmons

Then there were the ones they reckon should be delisted although they accept there are some still on contract
- Coghlan
- Hughes
- Hislop
- King
- McMahon (only if we trade him)
- Oakley-Nichols
- Pattison
- Polak
- Shultz
- Thomson

Thats 12, but I wouldn't be slitting my wrists if it was only 9-10

I agree with the retirements. I know the delist list is long. But with 5 retirements then a few boys might get a reprieve for one more year to prove their worth. I would only add McMahon, Hughes and JON to that list to go. That is eight changes and that is enough list changes for one year.

Hughes has to go 74.

get rid of hughes/polak/schulz, you only have reiwolt, post, richo, and maybe gourdis as forward talls. Given we are delisting 10+ with this list, I'd like to have Schulz or Hughes in reserve to cover injury (for one year only). Only picked Hughes because I think he "may" turn it around, while I cannot see Jay doing it now

Agree, I'd keep Hughes, I happen to think he's struggling to get over the tram accident with Polak. Polak maybe kept as well, he seems to be improving constantly.

*smile* is DEAD MEAT, he has to go, 8 YEARS at RFC and no runs on the board, he's gone, the others on the list should go too, with perhaps the exception of Thompson who has not played a game AFL with RFC, so he should be kept on for next season.

The others on the list like McMahon (St Kilda may take him if offered trade yeah right), JON, King etc, their time is due and they should be gone come years end.

The big question is will the new coach really take the AXE to the playing list or will it be more of the same, trading draft picks for retread AFL players.

Not when you are going to promote one or two rookies.

We must delist/trade 10 minimum.

You've got to put the bones of a team on the park, even if half will be upgraded over time. I'd start with:

B. Edwards Thursty Sly
hb. Polo Post Connors
c. Cousins Coughlan Newman
hf. Tambling Mcguane Cotchin
f. Vickery Jack Mitch
r. Browne Deledio Foley

Int: Collins Nahas Jackson Polak (subject to medical op/form)

Contracted (trade options): King, Schulz, Macmahon, Hislop,Thompson .

Keep: Putt Moore Richo White: Upgrade/re rookie Gourdis Gilligan: Add Irishman

Delist/trade/retire: Tuck, Brown, Raines, Rance, JON, Hughes, Pattison, Graham, Simmonds, Johnson, Bowden, Pettifer

Tuck, Raines, Rance and Graham are must stays.

Can't believe you have McGuane in your team. Fair dinkum he would be hard pressed playing CHF in division 2 of the Diamond Valley League.

No surprise Hislop is there.

no surprise any of them are there. theyve basically mentioned 15 players whose names come up during any discussion. obviously all 15 arent going to go. did they order them, suggest how many should go? which ones should? did they discuss connors/putt? sounds like the usual shallow discussions media have.

Collectively your four 'must stays' have the footy smarts of a potato peeler and the judgement and co-ordination of a horny walrus on smack . They are the types of player that spell disaster. Go to the naughty corner!

Lukey played CHF in junior days - dont think he is the answer but worth a shot - could be an Earl Spalding type (got his kicking down pat) . Is Morabito a potential answer there?

Pretty sure Schulz is contracted for 2010 so I cant see him being delisted unless he gets traded, which is even more unlikely.

Why the hell not. Just pay him out. No value what so ever on the list. Plenty of cap space.

That is very good lamb chop. Love a bit of humour in these dark days.
