Congrats Ian4, don't always agree with your views but very happy for you. You are one of PRE's most dedicated football lovers, hope you enjoy it!guess who has snagged a last minute ticket?
Good job!guess who has snagged a last minute ticket?
Good job!
I saw yesterday hospitality tickets to the final were still available- about $1500 each i think...
Well if anyone offers you a ticket (or 2) to Sunday let me know....I got mine through a contact. Paid $300. @MD Jazz one thing this sport does like no other is bring fans together and help each other out. I got a ticket to last Saturday through some guy from Adelaide I met along the way. I got a ticket for tonight through someone i have known for years who also lives in Adelaide (his mate who sold me the ticket lives in Sydney). I'm going to London in February with another mate who lives in Sydney... we met though socials as we are both Spurs fans (he has contacts that will get us match tickets over there). I actually got him (and his family) tickets for the Ireland game.
That's not to say that doesn't happen in footy. I have met some awesome people through PRE and other socials. But (in my experience) the camaraderie in this sport is on another level.

I think there would be a fair few tickets on the market in that scenario.Serious question. If Australia fail to advance to the final. Is it likely there will be a whole heap of tickets dumped onto resale sites? Or do we think, people would be happy to attend regardless and hold onto their tickets?
Agree, but it will still be pretty full. Fingers crossed we win toinight, it'll make Sunday something really special.I think there would be a fair few tickets on the market in that scenario.
I'm not a terribly patriotic person, so the game and the contest itself tends to interest me as my main motivation to watch. So many fascinating international matchups to analyse. Don't get me wrong, I like seeing the Matildas and Socceroos do well, but it's not my primary driver for watching. Hence, if I could pick up a bargain ticket in that scenario, I'd seriously consider it.I think there would be a fair few tickets on the market in that scenario.
I reckon there will be plenty up for resale, particularly those interstate. The stadium will still be packed.Serious question. If Australia fail to advance to the final. My dual national colleague and mate said he'll be supporting whoever is losing - forever a supporter of the underdogI bought my final ticket when Fifa released them. I obviously had hopes of who I wanted to see in the final but was happy to go and see the spectacle whoever it was, its not often we get a World Cup on our backdoor. I'd previously been to the mens world cup in Korea which was a great experience. Ended up watching South Korea and Germany int he semi and then the 3rd/4th playoff between South Korea and Turkey but the experience of being there was great.
TBH it couldn't have worked out better for me. I'd previously hoped to see an England v Australia last 16 tie in Brisbane (and had tickets to that game) but it wasn't to be, but unbeknownst to me at that time, the World Cup had something much better planned. England v Australia semi (which I'm not going to tonight) but regardless it means I will be following one of them on Sunday, either my country of birth or my adopted country. I'm actually genuinely torn as to who I want to win, I've dreamed of watching an England team play in a world cup final, but then I see what this tournament appears to be doing for the game (and in particular the womens game) in Australia, and I do want the Aussie girls to win too.
I'll be supporting England tonight, but only by a small amount. If the Matildas get up, there will likely still be a smile on my face.
That's one thing that has always perplexed me in some team sport tournaments. The 3rd vs 4th place playoff. I've always wondered how teams get themselves up mentally for it. I suppose in the day and age of prize money, it does serve a practical purpose of separating the 3rd and 4th place purse. In Olympic tournaments, the bronze medal vs nothing much for your effort. But gee wizz, no wonder they are sometimes lacklustre affairs.Demand for Saturday tix will jump.
