yes - they had the as ascendancy and all the momentum towards the end of either the first or second qtr and what does Fagan do, pulls up stumps by moving Rayner behind the ball - let’s the pies have repeat entries, kick a couple of goals and regain control - that was where they lost it.
Just stop one of those goals after the siren in the first half, and the Paddle Pops win.

There are only 2 silver linings to the Collingwood win:
1 - Nathan Buckley wasn't coach
2 - Fat Eddie wasn't president
Whilst both will be happy with the win their ego's will also be burning them up inside that this flag didn't happen on their watch.
Nafe in particular will have it burning in his gut. After 9 years and 218 games as senior coach, to get so close but still have a coaching record that reads zero premierships. Only to be replaced by a bloke who is his antithesis and comes in and wins the flag in his second year, man that's gotta hurt.
Petty I know but in times like these you have to look for the little things that will make bearable.
