It might need to be weighted more in the Saints favour, as they will be taking the risk that we have another premiership year!
I'd be happy to walk out with their 3rd rounder.
I see an early pick at 9 as important, and wouldnt quibble the difference between pick 30 and mid 40s.

Turn it up. They were all at sea against bigger, older, heavier and more experienced men.
It would be a bit like Ben Hobbs going for a run with Usain Bolt.

Johnson looked a bit more assured, I think he's the pick of the WA kids.

That would be a valid argument apart from the fact the AFL Academy has beaten VFL teams with experienced men in the past. Including as recently as 2019

On face value yes but their are mitigating factors that mean the difference between a VFL team and the Academy is exaggerated this year.

The fact the Academy boys played very little footy in the last 12mths and hardly trained together makes it hard to judge on a like for like basis.

I agree with all of the above. And it emphasises just how much we have to look forward to.
But coming back to Erasmus he is a real talent who has been held back in the latter part of the year, by a leg injury.

Not having a bar of Bully’s reasoning for down playing his value.

Erasmus was the highest rated WA player before his injury. When he was playing with Johnson he was going better. A smart and driven kid so every chance of making it

These have been guides, his Phantom Draft is usually done the week of the Draft, maybe 1/2 days before at a guess on the exact date
 
My smoky for our second pick is Chesser. I love the way he moves, he looks elite in the very limited highlights. Any thoughts?
 
Why hasn’t Rachele gone on to play midfield since under 16’s? He won the Vic MVP at the under 16 carnival averaging 26 touches

Not for me. Couldn’t get on the park this year and looks more athlete than natural baller. Better options will be on the board still

Little snippet I’m hearing. Don’t rule out Josh Sinn at our 1st pick. Has a bit of Luke Hodge about him off halfback and through the middle.

I reckon he is the top 10 surprise and could go as early as Adelaide at 4.

Cal said that bout the crows, highly unlikely I say, too much talent ahead of him. Saints sure or port. I hope we don't.
Would much rather any of Gibcus, Hobbs, Erasmus, Johnson

Where does he go? Adelaide is considering Sinn for their pick, while St Kilda and Port Adelaide have also been linked with their first-round choices.

Wasnt he ranked as a potential top 5 pick at the start of the year?

Personally I see him going to the Saints at 9.
 
Yeah Sinns an interesting one. Could really go anywhere.

On Sonsie - For all the fan boys, what are his knocks? Is it his application? Does he have that real aggression for the ball/contest/physicality that gun onballers need. Will he take the hit.

Is that a ? mark at all.
 
It’s going to be very difficult to climb up the draft order, without giving away a lot. Unless, there is a change of heart by gws or gold coast. I can’t see adelaide or fremo swapping.
We have five picks, thus far in the top 30.
The table attached shows Cal Twomey’s selection of top 30's, I have added the indicative draft order by club and included dacios and darcy.
Question: do we really need 5 new recruits or do we scale down to four with better selections and have a hit next year’s draft?
