2020 finals–week one: the other games

Yep Jackie Henry. As slow as a wet week. Typical Handbagger.
He is the epitome of a spud footballer in finals. That play mid game when he took possession and had a fortnight before being nailed was deer in a headlight stuff.

Gryan Miers showed tonight he thoroughly deserved his under 22 All Australian guernsey ahead of Shai
The most staggering rep team selection I can recall in a long long time. Bolton is 5 times the player Miers is.

Geelong's young players can't keep the show on the road. Not a terrible group, but not capable of inheriting the mantle. Cats will be in full Hawthorn mode at season's end, topping up on senior players.

They already seem to be the oldest team in the finals. How old is their team from tonight compared to ours?

Salty probably on the phone to Heath Shaw right after the match.

Yep would've preferred that the Sooks get up to save us from a possible PF in Adelaide if things go tits up tomorrow night.

We win tomorrow night we most likely win the GF its that simple.

Tigers must get over the line any way by hook or crook we MUST get it done, if we do things fall the way we want them to.
Meh, beat anyone, anywhere, anytime when you're the best. We'd just prove to everyone how good we are

Should Geelong trade Danger? It's almost rebuild time.

Not likely, word on the street is he’s in final negotiations to be Geelong’s captain / coach. Apparently growing a beard to look a little more like Salty has become a sticking point, because he can’t grow one without patches.

They need to replace the veterans with ready-mades, otherwise they'll fall back. And I don't think they can afford to drop and have the stands half-full while they're paying off the debt. They pretty much can't afford not to bid for the likes of Crouch.

Bottom-aged players in tonight's team

Miers 21
Henry 22
Parfitt 22
O'Connor 23
Atkins 25
Kolodjashnij 25
Bews 26
Stewart 27
Dahlhaus 28

There's not nearly enough coming through to replace the likes of Ablett/Taylor/Selwood etc.

Wondering if 31yo Jenkins gets a gig next week, or 30yo Steven.

Geez Geelong has got some players that are total shitcarts in finals. Rohan is the top dog.

Dangerfield and Ablett unsighted tonight. Ablett clearly finished. Looks very slow.

They have stadium debt? Thought it was the Victorian taxpayer lumped with that bill.
