Kurtzy might not be on for a while, last time I chatted to him he was debating between wether to take xfactor/skills or toughness intimidation.

He just couldn't decide between Aaron Fiora and Nathan Caroll, I did try to save us some time guys and tell him neither is on a list now and he got all feral and said I was just joking around as usual as they obviously are too talented to not be on a list.

Hopefully he will just realise he will have to go with his third choice who is at least on a AFL list.

Try convincing him though that Zac Dawson cannot intimidate Jonathan Brown! There's just no helping some people I tell ya!

EDIT: Oh crap I just left this board and saw he's come online, help me wipe the blackboard people quick!

I just read this, smartar*se, actually I was just hoping you could pick every Freemantel docker not called Pavlish and Sandilands

:rofl :rofl

Foremost apologies mate, I'm working on hidden agendas here. If I spread malicious rumours about people while it is there turn hopefully they will hurry to check in all the time so I don't get time to. ;D

Gee im having a shocker.

Pick 34 - Sam Fisher

::)

You had to do that to me!! Mate he was the one I wanted.

Anyway......

My pick is;

Hamish MacIntosh - North Melbourne Football Club.

Had to take a ruckman I believe will be top class now before my next pick which is about two weeks away! :hihi

Any chance i will get another pick this year? ;D

I have suggested to U2 that this draft needs a 2 hour minimum move on rule during the hours of 9am and 9pm - that should mean we at least move along 6 picks a day (in reality it will probably mean about half to a full round a day). 12 hours is just too long I'd suggest.

Passed over picks can still be made when online next - so this basically just rewards those who are here often enough to participate and the penalty is not harsh.

If you agree, then let Bono know, cos if enough feel the same, then he'll make the necessary adjustment (either that or I'll be kneecapped :police:).

Even though I agree, seeing you kneecapped might be worthwhile! ;D

I agree.

I'm all for moving things on.

Any chance that we can set a time when the majority can make some sort of effort to be on at the same time? Like some sort of "hour of power" where a few picks are taken.

Maybe even lists of up to 10 picks in order are PM'ed around if you can't be around during the set time?

This is taking so long my clothes are nearly back in fashion.

Pharace would enjoy it too much. If you wanted to torture/punish him, just ban him from being able to talk about Harry Potter.

Just make sure he doesn't get banned fromt alking all together....

Some times he comes up with good ideas. :hihi

I agree whole heartedly, though on firther thinking about it. It is a bit tough (and he calls me tough!) on people working and even I have flexibility to come on regularly, but I could catch up with someone for a couple of hours.

Perhaps in addition to Pharace's suggestion we consider one or two further things...

The few of the 16 of us who don't have easy access or are working (they are the people i'm thinking of the most) get 4 hours on a honesty system, it's not hard to plan since you know when your pick is coming up and most i know in this who work are generally on in a 4 hour span any way. I say honesty system because only people who generally cannot regularly commit to 2 hours should take this option as it is not preferable.

If your struggling to come on or know you will when it is your pick people need to use preference lists more and PM them to someone regularly on (no point sending them to someone as busy as you).

Between 2hr turns for most, 4hrs for a few and a greater usuage of preference lists we shouldn't be in positions of waiting half days and sometimes days, for people.

Obviously all this would need to be communicated and signed off on so we know what to expect of people.

It's 5mins work people for a lot more effecient and enjoyable thread for everyone.

Fantastic idea.

All I know is that I'm spending alot of time watching this thread with not much happening.

The PRE Supercoach draft last year worked with 10 minute slots. If you missed you had the last 5 minutes of any period to catch up.

It was better because you knew your time in advance too.

Ok - happy with a speed up plan.

I do however want all 16 posters to acknowledge whatever plan it is, so all know about the new rules.

I will implement the end plan.

Pharace and Dyers disciple - could you please ( maybe start a thread) come up with the idea and post it. where all coaches respond to agree - not fair if we bring a 2-4 hour rule on some and they miss something like 15 turns because of it.

I do want it to go quicker - I just suppose I have done heaps of these and know they take time - thats why we start so early in the year.

I will leave this up to others to organise - As of tommorrow I start moving my house - more than 1 week before I'm settled in a new one.

let me know when and what the new rules are.

The two hour rule is important to force those who know they can't be on to at least have a preference list sent to someone.

I've already sent one to U2 for my first two picks, out of regard for all of you (except DD of course) ;D.

That's why the two hour rule can work. Hell, last season we had three picks per hour didn't we? and that moved well everyone thought. One pick in two hours is still snails pace, but i conceed it is the best balance for all concerned. Anything more than that could see us still doing this when the NAB cup is running!

Thanks Kiwi, it was six selections per hour wasn't it - but we did have a larger list to gather (30 I recall)

If they are around to acknowledge a new plan they could just take their pick while they were at it!
