Yeah, he good alright. I just kept finding someone else. He pretty much became their CHB after Warnock and Garland stood up Ok down back. Very underrated!

great pick up - he was very good in a poor side - he will always get a heap of the ball in that side - and he uses it well, shame about some of his teammates.

That's my reservation re Wheatley.

Like John Pitura. Very good in a poor side, not so good in a top side.

But it's speculation only.

Never understood that theory myself, if you compared him to teammates sure, but his stats stack up against his contemporaries.

Personally, I always thought it was HARDER to play well in a poor side. Especially get as much of the ball he has when they have copped such a shellacking, not too mention continue with one of his elite strengths, kicking long to advantage. (His hardly been running around in circles clocking possessions like Bowden has done).

Nope, can't buy into that one, on any player in any debate. I'm not just defending my player.

Just on Pitura, that was a highly overrated player. He never kicked more than teens amount of goals except one season when he kicked 29, he was not a bad midfielder. I always thought he was overrated, but I must say I didn't get to see him play much.

Sheehan still believes to this day that the only reason we went after him is he was dangerous on Bourke one day and with the limited intelligence clubs had then, they were mainly keen on him because they thought anyone who could play like that on Bourke had to be a gun.

Interesting note of trivia some might not know....Pitura always had bad relations with South Melbourne, at one point they threatened/came close to trading him to Glenelg for a gentleman by the name of Graham Cornes.

Wouldn't that be a small divergence in historic effects that would have big repercussions today if that had taken place.

Now back on topic...I spot a sly doggie! ;D

Daniel Harris (NMFC)

He's copped a lot and not came on as much as promised, but I like him and was pondering him for my hard onballers brigade. At least is defensive pressure and tackling are still elite. :)

Good get at this point I would think.

Mark Lecras - WCE

Anothr handy one, if memory serves me write he is one of the legion of players who kicked a bag on us in his first game. Didn't you just hate it when a young forward played his first game on us, always KNOWING he was going to kick a few goals.

In for a penny, in for a pound.

Dirty Sanchez on one wing and.......

Travis Johnstone on the other.

Put Chris Judd in the middle and you have the Three Amigos.....Lucky Day, Dusty Bottoms and Little Neddy.

Travis Johnstone from Brisbane.

Was going to be my next pick.
That stings. Great pick up.

Always meant to ask Tannerz, re your Avatar, how do you know he is coming to Tigerland in 2010 - or is that just wishful sumizing?
