OK...
I will take G Polak, gives me my third tall. Could be great helping out in defense (plays best when able to un loose in the back like Fletcher).
His head knock waved aside so he can play, will be good as new body wise.
Finished the season (despite only playing 11 games) 11th for mark averages in a game wiht a staggering 7.6.
Yes, a very tidy loose man in defense who can mark opposition kick ins. Reinforce the spine, give me the three talls I think all defences need and can go forward and give flexibility in match ups.
Col.W.Kurtz said:Interesting pick, I thought about him and decided against him just because it was Richmond supporters judging him and they tend to be pretty harsh on him, probably harsher than other supporters would be. If this was any other team's board you can pretty much guarantee than Sanchez would be gone.
Dyer Disciple said:That's what i call taking advantage of taking two picks together for structure, well done. I was seriously considering one of them wiht my last pick but still spoilt for choice in that category.
Dyer Disciple said:Agree on Sanchez for sure, as far as Polak, not so sure. He has his supporters on here (strictly speaking football talent not his medical situation of course which i'm sure most of us support him in) but I also think he has had to play in less than ideal situations due to our needs and therefore been judged as a CHB/CHF which I don't think he is.
Fletcher is a great comparison....we all know Fletcher was a great player, he still is a very god player. However he is now getting goals kicked on him on one on one stopping roles like full back, Fletcher's best game now is as a loose man in defence to set up run and long kicks from the back line.
Polak is similar but more as a mop up defensive loose man. Used like that I am sure he will win more than his fair share of match ups as he will be on second/third best talls more often than not. If you look at my key position players I am trying to get players who can be very versatile as all the true dedicated masters of their positions were gone in my opinion (except for a couple I didn't think rated enough runs on the board yet) so I went the next best thing, guys I think who are still promising in their positions but also versatile. I like being able to play around with match ups and have versatility as you come across different sides you need different structures.
His marking ability truly is elite in the comp, just couldn't pass on that for a mop up/support tall.
In my side he will get the luxuary of being used in match ups I think he can win, as opposed to having to play roles his not suited for

Isn't it amazing how we will pick up another club's middling players, no problem, but mark our own far too harshly?
I guess 28 years without success does that to you.

They'll all be scrambling for him shortly. ;D
Dyer Disciple said:I was a huge fan of Hasleby as a junior, but have been sorely disappointed in him as a senior footballer, especially in recent years. He cannot blame injuries overall, his lazy and doesn't apply himself as a senior footballer should.
I gave up on him long ago.
