To finally beat Geelong at Kittylitter Park and have 3 of our less heralded players as best is fantastic.

Re: Player of The Year Round 9 vs Cats.

Thanks Tiggy. :)

I'm surprised Joel is so far behind. He'd have to be pretty good odds to take Jack home again at this stage.

Hi Rosy how did Bowdo go in the PRE award last year out of interest?

Seems to me the likes of J. Bowden and Newman don't seem to do that well in the PRE award. I'm not so sure why. Seems as established defenders they don't get much credit for their work. Here anyway.
Perhaps that's because expectations for them are so high and they deliver in unspectacular fashion every week. it takes something exceptional for them to stand out.

Also I think we as supporters seems vote the underdog or the youngster ahead of our more established players (Richo aside).

I think those that make the decisions regarding the JDM might see things a bit differently to how the supporters do.

Personally I'd like to see 5 votes given each week. Because I think some on the fringe of vote getting sometimes get left out.

Re: Player of the year 2006 [Merged]

Raines is an absolute revelation this season. Sheer hard work and a determination to learn under coach Wallace.

Keep at it son...... you are a sheer joy to watch :clapping

We had a discussion on the forum about different voting systems.  We've been pretty spot on most years and have selected the winner some years.  Might be a bit different this year with us rewarding kids for their efforts, as shown with Polo coming 4th this year and Lids making our top 10 last year but not the coaches top 10.

The 5 vote system would make a lot of extra work for Tiggy or me or whoever counts the votes and it's a pretty time consuming job already.
