Gardner was the only player given a lengthy suspension last year, and he was much more disposable than Cousins. This really hurts because Benny is still the unofficial team leader and possibly as valuable player as even Judd.

Wonder when his contract is up.

At the end of this season. Was thinking along the same lines myself ts. Wouldn't be encouraging my son to hang around over there.

Unfortunately I'd say Judd will more than likely stay an Eagle now because of this.
Cousins will be finding a new home to free up the WC finances in order to resign him.

"We believe what we have found out in the last couple of months that we do have a small instance of alcohol and drug abuse," Gooding said on The Footy Show.

Small????????

don't agree ToO, that scenario is what WC will want obviously, but aint that simple. Gives Judd a gilt edged opportunity to exit. Maybe he likes Perth I dunno. But:

Its not just Cousins, its Fletcher, Gardiner and Kerr, thet we know of. All key elite players and recurring incidents over a long period. If Judd wants leave, everyone would understand completely, plus its not like he hasn't given them good service. Whichever way you slice it, if Judd wants out, he can get out with reputation and wallet enhanced. Rosy makes a pretty basic and compelling point re his family wanting him to associate with bunch of coke-head wannabe gangsters, what is he? 23? still young and impressionable, and He is Victorian after all.

Yeah Anduril. Small. You know. Just a light beer at an official function with an asprin the next morning. Small.

Re: Ben Cousins in trouble again

Cousins, Fletcher, Gardiner, Kerr....

The WCE really don't send the right message about what it means to be a successful young male in today's society.

Particularly not to impressionable teenage males at a time in their lives when they will be increasingly exposed to drugs in their various forms.

Re: Ben Cousins in trouble again

West Coast have finally tried to sort out the off field mess after protecting their playings for so long allowing them to do as they please.

WC won't give Judd up without a fight and will move mountains to keep him I'd suggest.
They would be much quicker to offer up any of the other remaining problem children you mentioned than CJ.

The Weagles have a real perception problem at the moment. Sponsors would be getting very nervous. That mean lost dollars if things don't change.
Don't be surprised to see a fire sale at the end of '07 but I'm not sure Judd will be the one leaving somehow.

Still if he does I hope we make a genuine play for his services. 8)

my oath!

yeah course they'll do everything they can as you say, but he seems a pretty self-possessed bloke, which is a big reason they'd want to keep him and any side would give the grandsatnd to get him, but if he decides he wants to come home, will their best efforts be enough? We'll see.

Re: Ben Cousins in trouble again

As good as they are would we be silly enough to give a Kerr or Cousins a second chance to destroy our club??
Sounds like the Hay saga at the Kangas!!!
