Did anyone watch this documentary on SBS last night ?

Nothing new to me but it was very interesting and eye opening to anyone who was of the opinion that going to War in Iraq was the right thing to do.

Unbeleivable how in todays world, where we pride ourselves on being civilised, informed and compassionate, that a propaganda regime can brainwash the masses in the same manner that Nazi Germany did 50 years ago.

Lies, lies and more lies.

From Iraq having weapons of mass destruction to Iraq's involvement in September 11.

Yet the general public lapped it up !!

"It has to be true becaues CNN, CBS and FOX says it is "!!

How these hawks in the Whitehouse can manifest a plot that even Hollywood couldn't think of, and get away with it is just mind boggling.

Interesting how immediately after the September 11 attack Bush, Wolfowitz, Cheney and others decided to pin this on Iraq before even knowing what had happened, even before the CIA had given them any intelligence on the event.

If you think that the documentary is based on some left wing opinion, then think again. All the accounts and information were given by current and former CIA personnel, political and media representatives.

Another interesting account in the documentary was when the Whitehouse employed the services of a former/current CIA agent (? I think he was, didn't quite catch his title) to go to Nigeria and inspect whether Nigeria had been dealing Uranium and other nuclear materials with Iraq. His detailed report to the Whitehouse outlined that there had been no such dealings. However in Bush's address to the nation prior to the war, a speach that is probably the most important in a Presidents reign, he blatantly lied and said that there had been dealing between Nigeria and Iraq in nuclear materials.

It was also interesting how the Whitehouse implemented a smear campign on Hanx Blix, the UN weapons inspector, after he breifed them and the world that Iraq had no weapons.

The best bit was when an old US government advisor absolutely blasted Bush and his administration at a government hearing, about the lies, the deception, and the arrogance.

Also another eye opening documentary on the whole Bush/Whitehouse/Iraq farce is "Farenheit 9/11" by Mike Moore that is out on cinemas at the moment I beleive. You can also go to his website wwwmikemoore.com (I think it is - or something like that)

Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Powell, Howard, Downer, Blair etc. - all international criminals of the highest order. Have all been directly responible for the slaughter of thousands of innocent Iraqi men, women and children. If there is any justice in this world they must all join Milosevic and Hussein at the war crimes tribunal !!
 
To breifly sum up my opinion of what Bush has done.

Don't worry Daddy I'll get Sadam.

As I'm not a religous person I cannot understand people killing each other over it and I try not to get involved.

I didn't like S11 one bit but I also feel sorry for innocent civilians dying in war so it's a lose lose.

One thing we no is America will win any war they enter so I'm happy to be on there side and Australia had no choice but to join in, in this case for the better of our nation and it's future protection I am proud of our siolders who are some of the best in the world and I hope they all come home safely

I set the economic record for the most private bankruptcies filed in any 12-month period and in any 24-month period. (2 ½ Million personal bankruptcies)
I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the stock market.
I am the first president in decades to execute a federal prisoner.
I am the first president in US history to enter office with a criminal record.
In my first year in office I set the all-time record for most days on vacation by any president in US history.
After taking the entire month of August off for vacation, I presided over the worst security failure in US history.
I set the record for more campaign fund-raising trips than any other president in US history.
In my first two years in office over 3 Million Americans lost their jobs.
I cut unemployment benefits for more out-of-work Americans than any president in US history.

I think Bush came to office with a distinct world view honed by people like Cheney and Wolfowitz. An attack on Iraq was always on the cards during a Bush presidency, and 9/11 gave the excuse to go ahead. There was a distinct 'philosophy' (if you could call it that) behind what took place based on a view of the Us role in the world and how the Middle East should be restructured.
 
Iraq was all about the oil. I ask where are these so called weapons of destruction ? none have been found. Bush, Major and Howard are all lies and just power hungry.

All polictians are liers and power egoistics.

The country of Sudan is facing a hughe crisis and needs help. As Sudan has nothing to other (oil), the US and Australia just turn their backs on then and let innocent people die.

John Howard has his head so far up George W Bush's arse its not funny. I am not in favor or the Liberals or Labour. Once in power they break all their promises and are only out for themselves.

Its a shame that poor inocent people pay with their lives because of power hungry polictions. I guess these people will have to answer to powers higher than themselves come the day of judgement. I hope the rot in hell.

It's an indictment on the world we live in that we turn a blind eye.

Bush should really be highest on the court's list, as it was the lies from the US Govt that set the wheels in motion.

I reckon Govt is the soft target. Where was that info coming from? CIA? Military Intelligence? Trigger happy Joint Chiefs? I think Bush, Blair and Howard need to be held accountable for their political failings, but so to do the people who were pushing them to that conclusion. The nameless, faceless military/intelligence power brokers who aren't elected and don't lose their jobs when governments change.
