Just checked but it probably has been mentioned before, Hinkley has coached the most games without a grand final appearance. Second on the list, by a season’s worth of games, is pepper Scott
Yet he got this team to a preliminary final. The lack of talent across the board is apparent to all yet it's still Hinkleys fault?
He could have moved magnets like he was playing battleship, but the result would.be the same.
Marshall was concussed so they had to make a change.
But any team with Dixon and Ratogalea as their key forwards is in trouble on finals.
So, Dixon remains a fraud and I think Kenninckley's likely out on his arse next week. I think he's actually got about the most you could get out of this very ordinary Port group but he's pretty much run out of rope.
Credit to Luke Parker and the way he was used last night. To help subdue a bigger, more athletic Alir Alir and put him in two minds, while still presenting as a forward option himself. Good use of a tough, old, hard body fully committed to his team's success. This move reduced the pressure on Amarti, McLean and McDonald, and also allowed the likes of Heeney a bit more space and time. In the event of war, you'd be happy to have Parker in your trench.
On the subject of Amarti, McLean and McDonald, I wouldn't say any of them are world beaters, but they play their part and are contributing to success.
Who reckons our trio of Lynch, Lefau and Bauer - assuming they ever get on the park together - could be similarly effective, if not moreso?

Raynor can be so mediocre in finals, I'd give him the job on Stewart. That gives him a defensive, physical starting point, with a licence to run off and launch attacks.
