Winning the free kick count and losing games?

I'm in furious agreement with you here DavidSSS, except why does incompetence favour other teams more than us? You have to answer that question.

No I don't, the AFL does.

I actually don't think the better umpires hypothesis holds in relation to finals as those same umpires are often grossly incompetent during the season. I reckon it is more a case of the AFL instructions are different for finals, which is simply wrong.

Plenty of people have argued that in the Umpire farce thread. Please don't make me go back and find quotes, so tedious.

But glad we agree that AFL house and the umpiring fraternity don't have it in for us.
Yeah nah, you're going to have to go back and quote persistent proponents of a conspiracy theory. I can't recall any.

If somebody says the umpires hate us, and someone else says I don't believe in conspiracies, that doesn't make a conspiracy theory.

Ok, I'll get onto that. Only 514 pages of the umpiring thread to wade through...

If they had it in for us we would have the best free kick favouritism ever, not competent enough to implement a conspiracy.

As for the nongs at AFL House, they simply have no idea. All their hare brained ideas turn to s*** because they are stupid. Next they will want to have 6-6-6 at all stoppages, they have been heading this way for a while. You want to stop congestion, you want to have free flowing play? Protect the player going for the ball (only allow tackling once the player has possession, you know, like the bloody rules state) and allow the game to move quicker. Stop allowing packs half an hour to form, ball it up in a big big hurry and get the game going quickly so defensive structures have less time to get into position.
