Who will come in and who will go out?

Chaffey in
Vardy out (can't see them keeping him in if he only got a couple of minutes game time.)

Dunc in if he's fit. I hope this isn't a repeat of last season when he was always listed as 1 week, and I think it took 9? weeks till he played his first game.

Wouldn't like to see Hyde dropped after one game.
Would prefer Pettifer to have a few weeks at Coburg to get his attitude and endevour on track before he comes in.

Vardy may retain his spot, mainly as a back up tall, although now with Grant out they may opt for a smaller line up.

Obviously CHAFFEY will come back. PETTIFER may get a run as we desperately need goal kicking options and it will up to him to sieze the opportunity.

KELLAWAY will come back in for a tagging role if he is fit.

Krak maybe fit, but whether he will be promoted straight away of have a run at Coburg remains to be seen, but we are desperately in need of a quality crumber at the moment so may come into contention if fit.

SCHULZ????????

I think King will go out, or at least he should. Hyde maybe, but didn't think he did too badly with limited opportunity.

How that incompetant, poorly skilled, unaccountable dud, Rodgers gets a game week in week out is absolutely amazing. Does he ever hit a target?

IN:
schulz-stretch the doggies defence.
fleming-added hardness against the doggies.
chaffey-missed him badly last week.

OUT:
king-sadly he is not up to it.
vardy-5 mins said it all.
hyde-not the answer.

lift their game:
tivendale,bowden,rogers and cameron.

Out: Vardy (only because he needs game time)
Hyde & King - for reasons that should be obvious to all

In: Dunc (if Fit), Chaffey Schulz - with the unfortunate injury to Grant - we need exploit the Bulldogs
lack of height in defence. If Dunc isn't fit - let's bite the bullet and throw Marth McGrarth in there and see what happens

Have to agree with Diggler - How rogers gets a game is beyond me. He is pathetic and as long as we name him in our side we will go backwards - remember we've still got 2 more positions to go backwards on last year.

Yes, the amazing frawely. Names Vardy in the side and only gives him 5 minutes game time. We might as well have only 3 or 2 on the bench. Sorry I forgot - match ups and team balance.

Why not name shultz and play him forward and back - at least to give richo a hand.

Hopefully the changes are -
In - Shultz, Chaffey, Krakour
Out - Rogers, King, Vardy,

Hopefully, Hopefully rogers concussion keeps him out for the whole season.

PS - I think hyde shows some potential but I don't think he will become an afl player under frawely. I also hold these grave fears for rodan and newman.

There's been plenty of critisism of our coaches for the way they've played the kids over the years.

I'm a bit surprised then that so many people on the boards call for the dropping of Chris Hyde.

Sure he only got 6 or 7 posessions. Don't forget Kayne Pettifer played about 15 games last season and had an average of under 5 posessions over that period.

I think once a kid comes in he should get some game time and also more than one week.

Give him a chance to settle in and see if he's up to it.
They can't develop any confidence if they are in one week then out the next.

(Having said that I won't be surprised if Chris is dropped, ha)

BTW gutsy effort by Chris standing his ground with Rocca climbing all over him.

IMO the thing is to make sure the kids are ready for seniors, then be prepared to back them for a while.

Send a message early in the season:

Out Vardy - in Shulz
Out Rogers - in Fleming
Out Tivendale - in Chaffey
Out King - in D Kellaway if fit.

As the Bulldogs aren't exactly feared for their tremendous height, the only change may be Chaffey in for Vardy.

I have little confidence in the ability of Hyde and would expect him to go to be replaced by Pettifer.

Clinton King is Spud's pet from Collingwood so won't be expected to be dropped!

If Rogers was played as a leading forward out of a pocket it'd give us atleast 1 other option to the 'bomb it long to the triple teamed forwards' game plan good 'ol Danny seems intent to stick to.He has shown before he is quite good in this role but for reasons unbeknown to us Danny plays players in hideous positions. You can't say 'the kids get played out of position' (which I agree with also) and also say this senior player or that senior player is a dud because a few of the senior players have been played out of their ideal positions for too long. If we didn't need Campbo in the backline or on the ball I'd have him on a half forward flank in a second. I may one day get my wish as he gets older ....
Anyway put Schulz in and Pettiffer and Chaff and drop Vardy and King and judge the other on match ups..

I agree with you Rosy. It's the same response every time. People scream for Frawley to give the kids a game and then when they only get six touches people scream for them to be dropped. Your expecting a guy in his 3rd AFL game to star?? Pick up 20 or so possesions? I think not. The problem with half the fans is they expect our young kids to work miracles come into the side and dominate and when they don't he's a dud or a hack and not up to it.

Give the guy a go for crying out loud. Let him play a few games see if he gets into the swing of the things. If not send him back to coburg and let him get some more experience then bring him back up and try again. This idea of bringing a kid in for one match and then dropping him is stupid. You don't like the way half of our seniors play so you want to bring the kids in but as soon as they're in the side you want them dropped the very next week. And you wonder why we have the reputation for eating our own.

Out
Rogers(inj) - don't hurry back
Vardy - I believe an inanimate carbon rod would be a better defender/forward than him.
King - You can actually see him deteriorate as a player during a match.
Hyde - why waste time on someone who just doesn't have it.

In
Petiffer - He whinges, he sooks, and he's talented. Leave him on and he will kick goals.
Shulz - none of this easing him in crap! stick him on Darcy and lets see if he can play.
Chaffey - some added balls.
Flemming - couldn't be worse than those we drop.

TF you say flemming can't be worse than the one's we drop so why dont we leave hyde in and give the kid a go? No point putting him in for a week then dropping just to replace him with someone new how is any player going to be any good if that's how it goes. We should be giving the guys like Hyde, Pettifer and Mills who have been around for a few years, games before new players seeing they might be delisted give them a chance to prove themselves.

Yeah play Schulz on Darcy and lets see how he goes and if he doesnt do any good it'll be drop him he doesnt have what it takes.

Ah so true. I remember early last year people on another list calling for COUGHLAN to be dropped and even delisted.

Funny how they have now changed their opinions.

One quote that really stuck in my mind was "looks like a possum caught in the spotlight"

Just look what a bit of game time did for COG'S

I was only half serious about this. Anyway I seem to recall a certain first gamer for Collingwood last week doing a rather servicable job on Richo.

Remembering back further, and even funnier were the people who flooded the boards and commented in the chat room how stupid Richmond were to draft Cogs.
They said he looked like crying and was horrified when his name was read out to come to Richmond.
There were insightful comments how he'd never play well for us cos he didn't want to leave the west.
For all the bagging the club gets, I wonder if those people now admit how wrong it was to judge a draft pick by the kids face on television.
Well done Richmond. :)
