I can't help but feel a sense of let down. We had to wait about an hour and a half into the draft, eagerly awaiting to find out who our first pick (and future RFC star) would be, only to have the big disappointment of hearing that our club would not be using our first pick at all but instead would trade it to our arch enemy, Geelong. I just don't like giving Geelong a leg up for any reason. Unfortunately they will likely be in the finals again next year. Then we only drafted two players when, apparently, we could have taken four players. We now have 41 players on the list (including Houli), when we could have a maximum of 44 players. Perhaps we could have afforded to keep Turner or Eggmolese-Smith on the list. The club may draft another rookie and/or draft another player in the pre-season draft or mid-season draft but I think that it will be very disappointing if the club doesn't end up having the maximum number of players on the list.
