What would we have to give?

Thanks GCT, I did list Richo in my 2nd tier...I'll start again:

Otto
Cogs
Johnno
Kellaway
Chaffey
Cambo
Staff
Richo
Roadan
Kraks
McGrath
Zantuck
Hall
Holland
Fiora

I know there are several choices in there that will raise some ire but we have to draw the line somewhere. And I will probably cop some flak for those I've omitted, but I've also considered injury-prone players as well as those who could be traded/dropped.

I was just wondering if Miller is going all out to get Nick Stevens or Luke Power what would we have to give in return?
I doubt neither side would be interested in too many players on our list. I can only see draft picks being wanted.

On the other hand, Brisbane doesnt have a quality ruckman and would benefit with the likes of a Stafford, Ottens or a Hall.

However, they surely wouldnt be able to afford Ottens and Hall may still be in developing stages. Stafford would be ideal for them.

I'd hate to lose Stafford as his been great service and is a rare player who gives his all.

For Port Adelaide, apart from Ottens, they'd only want our first or second draft pick.

Agree with Bulluss. Razor is a pretty handy backstop to have, considering our lack of talls.

I dont think we have a lack of talls. We in fact have one of the most number of tall players in the AFL.

Stafford (203 cm)
Ottens (201 cm)
Holland (197 cm)
Richardson (197 cm)
Hall 196 (cm)
Vardy (195 cm)

Thats 6 players 195 cm or taller. No many teams boost the flexibility of having 6 talls.

We could afford to let one go with ease. Preferrably Vardy who hasnt done much since 2000. Hasnt been a regular and its time to say goodbye.

There is no way I'd like to see Hall go. For a man of his size, his got great speed. Hall is hard and tough, something we lack in the team. Hall can play in the ruck, down back or in the foward line.

Hall is still developing and unfortunately, injury took its toll on Hall this year. But, watch out next year, Hall will be back playing great footy.

As Fiora and Tivendale have both re-signed and are off the table, and Ottens and Coughlan are untouchable, I think the three players with the most currency at the trade table would be Chaffey, Bowden and Hall.

Chaffey would be a controversial trade, because he has just had a career best season (a bit like Torney last year). But, no pain no gain. We aren't going to pick up top players or draft picks by trading the players we want to unload anyway. If we traded Chaffey, I think Bowden could fill the role Chaffey has this year. In fact, I think Bowden would be a lot better if he was given one role to play, rather than trying to work out where to put him every week (I think he has played nearly every posy except ruck this year). Alternatively, we could trade Bowden and keep Chaffey.

Not too many of those talls can put together a full season though, and we've been caught out with them being injured before, hence Vardy rucking all day in WA.

Denis Pagan came out last night and said they might have to look at trading there 1st pick(not sure what there 1st pick is bc of there fines etc..)

They want an established Midfielder. Offer them BOWDEN for their priority pick.

Trouble with this is a disciplinarian like PAGAN would probably turn BOWDEN into a champion.

How about trade Cambo!
We need a younger leader anyway and Cambo would slot nicely into a decent side and give them 2-3 years service.
He wouldnt be missed at all at tigerland, with his ineffective toe pokes going to noone in particular. We have to many of this type anyway.

Diggler, be afraid, be very afraid, JohnF will be laying in Ambush outside your front door over these comments.

We should have got rid of Cambo at the end of 1998 when he asked to leave us and started rebuilding from then. He has kept the club afloat since then helping us win 6-10 games a season when everybody else around him has been a hack.

If we got rid of him in 1998 we would have been similarly placed to St Kilda right now. After 5 wooden spoons in a row we would have had some really good draft picks and would have been ready to have a ten year dynasty. It has really hurt us keeping him on. If he left it would have made it much easier for us to be exposed for the duds that we are instead of living in constant hope.

He should have gone to a team that could win a premiership - which he deserves - instead of helping out the underperformers at our club like Richo, Knights, Gaspar, Daffy, Holland, Gale etc.

I'd be up for trading him now, but we wouldn't get much for him given his age. maybe a second round draft pick. it would be beneficial for us in the long run I suppose. No use him leading us to ten wins again next year.

I agree 100% with JohnF.

Although I doubt a Campbell trade would eventuate now but I'm pretty much up for anything that could potentially improve the list.

No individual is bigger than the club.

I cant see Campbell being traded.

With a side that must rebuild, we need exprience and leadership. Both what Campbell was.

Richmond was in the position to trade him a couple of years ago and refused to do so.

Campbell is too valuable in assisting our club rebuild.

Carlton's first pick will be a prioirty pick, so overall it willbe number 2 (after the doggies first pick) - well worth picking up I would have thought. as we could then trade away our pick (likely to be 7). What would Carlton want a player like Pettifer, Houlihan (so he canplay in the sandbox with his brother), Biddiscombe, King - maybe we offer all of them for it.

As for Richmond's 2nd round draft pick, it probably depends on the Raines familyas to whether or not Richmond trades out of the 2nd round.
