"If a player is going to leave this club, I want them to say they've had every opportunity to improve as a player, and they've actually improved not only on-field but off-field.

This is what Hardwick said today, I have feeling he could be referring to our very own Deledio.

Any thoughts?

Has to be Lids. No definately the Chimp. Could be Jack. Do we have any other decent players? I think he referring to all our good players who are all going to leave us apparently. Definately Lids or Chimp.....

Don't think he was referring to anyone in particular. I think he is saying he wants the culture to change.

I think you are reading too much into it GPB.

I took it as meaning ... "If any player that comes under my coaching reign should be moved on, retire, or be de-listed....once he leaves the club...I want them to say they've had every opportunity to improve as a player, and they've actually improved not only on-field but off-field (as a person).

Wasn't referring to anyone, i think it was in response to a question about his coaching philosophy. He seems big on constant improvement in himself and players

He is talking about under his coaching. I do not believe it is a reference to anyone of our players. Like Scott he wants to bring in a environment where the players will succeed.

A place of harmony and success.

i read that as embedding a culture in the place that is all about continuous improvement, an end to junior AA stars walking into Punt rd full of dreams only to walk out broken down 2 bit bums , not a cooee of realising pre draft ambitions...hope that clears it up

On hearing it, I barely noticed it. Reading it, looks a bit weird. Mmmm...good pick up gpb.

I think Hardwick sees himself as a teacher from the school of hard knocks & I expect namby, pamby time is over.

Definitely reading to much into it he said himself he has not sat down with the match commitee yet been in the place 2 seconds & from what he saw on Saturday night he would have to have a positive view on Deledio!!

Maye he just said something he thought was pithy at the time in response to another inane question like: "So, Damien, tell us about your coaching philosophy in 25 words or less so we can use it as a grab for the 5 o'clock News?"

You've nailed it Toto :clap

A couple more years of that and Dimmy will be spinning with the best of them, just to get MB64 comfortable again! ;D
