I have no insight into lions academy,

But they cant pick them all.

Theyde rank them based on list needs

And if a bid comes earlier, they wave goodbye.

Part of the role of the northern academys is slightly misunderstood in that they are designed to produce footballers for the AFL, not necessarily the clubs.

Hence why they are heavily subsidised.

To illustrate this, AFL Queenslands website has 'Will Martyn debut' as its headline today
