Did what a 3 time premiership player should do against a WAFL team , however the faults aren’t getting better, imho his just hanging on until Clarke, Sonsie etc get a chance
Maybe George looked better because he had actual pressure providers in MRJ and Stacky next to him?
He could focus on getting up the ground a bit more.
Is when that success is a flag or three.Notion- Fans overestimate failure and underestimate success.
Is one success worth ten failure?
Yep. Might be doing the whatevers to help our forwards but at times I can't see it. Should be imposing himself into the game more but seems to fade out too much.I've seen enough this year. 3 effective disposals for the game. Now with MRJ playing well and Dusty back I'd like to see Castagna replaced by Stack.
Said the same thing to my mate.I've seen enough this year. 3 effective disposals for the game. Now with MRJ playing well and Dusty back I'd like to see Castagna replaced by Stack.
Who goes out for Prestia then? He’s not gunna get dropped after a good win. Just the way it is.
Somebody has be dropped - likely two - that’s the way it is tooHe’s not gunna get dropped after a good win. Just the way it is.
In the AFL website you can set up your own mystats filters so I thought I must be missing something about Castagna which the MC see. So I scrolled through some defensive markers.
Tackles equal last with Soldo and Edwards with 1.
Pressure acts 17th of 22 with 9.
Defensive half pressure acts - only player to record zero. Lynch 1. Dusty Shed and MJ 2, Riewoldt 5.
And then of course kicking efficiency last with 20% and effective disposals last with 3.
Next week's changes are Flossy and Dion in. Mansell out for Flossy is easy. I'd suggest Castagna's luck has run out. As I see it Shed and Pickett are the only other two possibilities on form. Interesting week for Dimma.
Footballers need to find the ball at some stage. And when they get it, kick like an afl player not an Auskick kid. What you and many others don’t understand is that Castagna runs to fill space. He and KMac are specialists at it. Pickett now also.
This kind of defensive running closes off space so the oppo can’t make dangerous leads and the oppo ball carrier won’t be tempted by the fat side.
This isn’t carried by any stat I know except total metres covered by the individual player, which doesn’t tell the whole story.
George runs all day and is fast. He plays a specific defensive role and Dimma is loathe to drop him as we know.
I’m not saying George is untouchable at the minute but folks have gotta understand that stats don’t account for everything.
