Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

I sense a Georgie special tonight , back to the Muligatawny tonight

I hope you’re right and that he nails his first opportunity tonight
Lately he’s almost looked scared when he’s had a set shot for goal and if it’s not doing his head in it’s certainly doing mine
Could be a make or break game

Needs a big game tonight. Can't recall a bloke playing a worse game and keeping his spot in the team. Particularly as he's been completely out of form leading up to it.

Hope he can turn it around. We're a better team when he's playing well.

Absolutely agree - usually Richmond are a bit more honest at the selection table - if you put together a string of bad form you get awarded a stint in the twos - well if they existed of course.

I was actually a little excited to see the teams this week because I assumed George had to be dropped and I didn't know who would come in or if they would cover George's role through a positional change (e.g. Stack forward, Houli to replace him).

Georgie's started OK today. Getting involved and no major SNAFUs

Only time I've noticed him is when he is in our d50 WTF?

No real mistakes, ran both ends. DE right up. Decent game. Hopefully build some confidence on that.

Thought he was better but still not good enough. But I’ve largely given up caring given his magnet seems welded to the board.

I thought he was equally culpable for the Rioli ambulance handball near the goal square.
Why the hell was he even calling for it?
Add it to the ever-bulging Castagna chaos files.

What annoys me the most is that every time he's in a possession chain, he handballs or kicks two to three metres wide or behind the target (assuming he hits them at all). He also takes an age to make the decision to do it, and has to make sure he does a sidestep first.

He reminds me of a guy I play soccer with who will invariably do three step overs, before back heeling to the opposition. Especially when he's on his own in the backline.

photos.
Apologies for the flippant Reply.
History shows plenty of very talented players never tasted the ultimate success.
Many lesser lights have been in the right team, time and place. And played their roles.
Do you agree or disagree with what I posted?

Agree in general. He does have a low footy IQ which is why he just needs to keep his game simple. Choose the first option. To me his value in the team is using his pace to harass and pressure, run hard, get behind the opponent when the opportunity arises. If he's not doing that his spot is in jeopardy. Personally I think as a team we've struggled a bit with that quality small forward player. Would love to have 2 Bakers in the side.

Not culpable at all. Rioli needs to be a lot smarter there. Obvious choice to shoot for goal and most players would have.

Step overs. One of the most overrated moves in suburban soccer. Those blokes quickly got found out.
