Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

It looked like h e was playing in the backline in the last quarter. Don't like him back there; lacks composure.

But he was more involved tonight than he has been all season. Good signs.

Now I've seen it all. George at HB. Then again Darren Gaspar and Duncan Kellaway had whole careers there.

George has a permanent case of the yips. I like him away from the goals. I think he prefers the space to work in. Wing.

Coaching panel and I were on the same page. Castagna did OK providing an outlet higher up the field and out forward smalls were sharper. Jake is looking very good. Really should have had 4 or 5.

Had some real George moments, but the good side of that was he was getting involved and hitting the contests and winning more ball.

Best effort since the return, the side needs his energy and attack

He had some good runs didn’t he? If opposition are going to fill the forward 50 more often than not he may well be more effective in other areas. On a few Occassion a tonight he just put the afterburners on and was away.

Agree. Played Caddy’s role. I’d like to see him continue there.

Spot on. The opposition don't know what he will do, let alone George.
I liked him up playing up the ground, similiar to how he played in the GF.
Open spaces suit him.

Yep, he was a lot more involved tonight and it might work playing him wing/half forward with maybe some time at half back - hey that sounds like a winger.

Good to see some improvement, we know he can be damaging, get some chaos going up the ground, maybe even get some confidence back and ignore the goal kicking for a while.

was a revelation on the wing when Caddy pinged.

a revelation.

when I think more about it, I think George on the wing is key to the code to us countering Buckleys negate richmond model.

Shaw didn't really go the full Buckley until late in the 2nd,

I think about the time caddy pinged?

coinciding with George stationing on the wing, Aarts and Higgin pushed up really, really high (they were often at HB).

I think the counter maybe we clear out HF, and leave all the opposition flood in a no-mans land.

then our hard running, really high HF's work back and work on what could be termed a pre-entry (as opposed to shallow or deep)

cause they are still 70 out, and then the entry is really deep and dangerous creating a score or a deep stoppage?

I dunno, thats my first thought on how we scored

George cannot play on the wing.

Can not.

We deal with his horrible ball use forward because the mids and backs have enough time to set up for the turnover.

Against North, we got away with it, because North are terrible and can't punish a turnover.

We will concede lots of simple goals if Castagna is coming out of the back line, and we have an even half way decent opponent.

In the last quarter alone, he had two or three no look hack kicks from our defensive goal square down the middle of the ground. If he does that against Collingwood, we lose.

Although our forwards did look more effective.

George and Kmac on the wings has to be the least skilled in the league. Thought George had a great game though. Run and carry might just be the go for him.
