Welcome to Tiger land Riley Collier’Dawkins

It's interesting, he couldn't get a game - now that he's playing he is at so many centre stoppages - Dimma is showing a lot of faith in him that is paying off. You could see his confidence lift after his first goal and he started to assert himself even more after that.

Like Dimma said some players look average in the vfl if left there and then get going in the afl.

He certainly looked more comfortable in an AFL game last night.

Looks to be working up to being AFL level. Getting better and learning the pace of AFL level. I am liking his progress a lot. Starting to get some belief and has reason to have belief in his ability to play at this level.

Looks to have a solid future as a regular centre for us.

DS

The club started him in the centre in the VFL and kept playing him there even when he was struggling.

The club had a long term plan for him and it is paying off now.

Growing with confidence. Strikes me very much as a confidence player.
The more impact he has, the more impact he has. Really snowballed into the game last night.
He will take a lot of belief out of that game against a very good midfield.

Just a small thing but one thing I really liked was his reaction after kicking goals. There were no unrealistic over-the-top celebrations, just quietly enjoyed the moment and moved on.

As far as the knocks on his speed go, he seems to have similar pace to other big bodied mids. Bontempelli isn’t super quick either. Riley just needs to be a consistent ball winner & user & he was in the second half last night.

He’s still a hold.

I have seen enough to believe he will be a player if he puts in the work - there is no guarantee but he has some great mentors around him at the moment so if he continues to put in the yards there is no reason to think otherwise.

It was pretty fierce in the middle last night.

Compare him to Baker after 3 games - both averaged around 15 possessions per game.

Not bad I say for a 3 gamer.

Both can find the footy and use it - it means they must have some speed to be able to do that.

He is doing well. I agree that he's not got great speed, but he does have acceleration over the 1st few steps. He's almost the opposite of Jack Graham, who gets up to top pace slowly, but is quick when he does, whereas RCD has that acceleration but doesn't push it to a high top speed. Its an important trait for him in the middle as he can burst away from packs. Very similar type to Cripps. Slower over the distance but has good acceleration.
