Welcome to Tiger land Riley Collier’Dawkins

Im hoping we stayed out of the draft to stockpile picks for some gun kids or even moreso for some gun topliners to trade in that will impact instantly and keep us in the fun zone for a tad longer and help the kids come on.
I can't remember where I read it or heard it, but I think Dimma had said they didn't want to bring another kid who's be looking to play eyesight away when there was already a log jam of kids trying to get into the side.
He said if you spend too long at VFL level during your formative years you usually end up being only that - a vfl player. He named a group Ross, Dow, RCD as those who now needed some opportunities to benefit our club.
He also mentioned something like RCD had gotten stronger, but dropped 5-6kg in the process, so he can get around the ground better and they'd always known he was a slow burn.

Yes we need to find out if Ross, Dow, RCD, Ralphsmith, Martyn, Cumberland and CCJ have the ability.

With 6 draft picks this year we can reset the club for a sustain period of dominance, especially if most of those guys do come on.

Win a premiership while regenerating = sounds like a plan

Henry went at pick 17. We had pick 20. He was gone before we even traded the pick.
Pedantic. OK, should have qualified it by saying, if we had taken the initiative to trade up with the purpose of taking Henry. I'm sure most can imagine that scenario. Where there's a will, there's (definitely) a way.

those pesky facts again :)
Like the ability to wheel and deal, trade up for example. So the mundane trivia has to be spelt out for those with no imagination but a heap of conceit about their own pompous football 'knowledge'. No doubt you also think we have got great deals for Butler, Markov and Higgins too. No chances of upgrading our draft picks there, of course? Got ripped off on BEllis too but little the club could do about that one.

I saw another poster, I forget who, say lately that Henry could have been good to acquire. Hope you et al piled on.

What's the big deal about Henry?
Not a mid, but a versatile marking player, I think about 188-190cm, who can go forward - or back. I think a mobile 3rd tall who is seriously competitive in the air, would be a really good addition to our FL, across half-forward and drifting up to the wings, allowing Tom and Jack to remain threats deeper.
Yes, all of our SFs are capable in the air, but at around 180cm, they do not, nor can be expected, to be players who take multiple overhead marks in a game.
Still too simple for backlines to mass around Tom/Jack, especially with Jack ageing and neither blessed with great leg-speed.

Yer, but all mids. Our FL was often a weakness in 2019/20, especially with Lynch or other regulars out injured.

Yes, it's a great plan, if it works. But where are the potential forwards in that group. Nearly all mids with some who could go back, aside from CCJ who is a Lynch type, not the pacey medium-tall, strong marking player I think could make a difference.

Except for Ralphsmith. He's just the type I mean possibly, but looks to be training with the backs as a future Houli replacement.

I made the unfortunate mistake last week of un-ignoring you.

That has now changed

I will add though that our recruiting team, Clarke, Hartley et al are regarded by most in the industry as doing a stellar job

You are the one with the "pompous football knowledge" banging on about doing better than them not me.

That's a pity because you'll miss this. Do what you like. So you cannot cope with someone having a different view to your own? Like I implied - just full of it.
But fine, It won't stop me posting what I want, nor ripping into old flogs like you who think you are the divine oracle of all RFC knowledge. Weak as.

resorting to name calling now, good one Leon.

You should call into the next C&C event @ the London & say g'day

Ha ha ha!! Didn't ignore for too long, eh? Hilarious. :D :D

You seem like a conformist thinker who just accepts authority and their decisions, little imagination or ideas of your own. Why do you bother with PRE then which is all about people expressing a wide range of views and opinions on a multitude of issues, but primarily football? How can you cope with it? Clearly not. Oh, Henry went at 17 and we used pick 20, so it was impossible to draft him!! OOOh!

It's worth remembering that we beat PA by a goal and Lions did us in the first final. I want to grab another flag as much as anyone, but wonder if we haven't addressed our FL weaknesses IMHO.
Yes, just my views. But if you are going to have an apoplectic fit, yes, ignore for your life.

But you're ignoring me!? Name-calling? What ... flog? Mate, if you want to fire shots at someone because they voice a different view, don't sook if they defend or explain their position. Telling someone they are to be ignored is not insulting, intentionally?

As for the pub, I'd probably love talking all things Richmond, just not much of a boozer these days.

Because there was oodles of high quality forwards
available at our selection.
No one wanted to trade for our pick, as they knew it would slide several places backwards.
Why pay first round value (what we'd be looking for) for something that will end up early to mid second round.
We've just won three premierships in four years. Back the club in to manage their list, or do you think we've just had a bit of dumb luck?

Forward line weakness?
Lynch, Riewoldt and Martin playing 60% there.
Tell me again where the weakness is?

He he he...Me thinks you misunderstood that invite from tas, might need to be a boxer not a boozer

Pretty obvious that we have a backlog of juniors waiting to play already, several highish picked kids and several kids from last year that still have to debut at VFL level, club did exactly right move to not bring in another early kid whom would not get a sniff,so it buys us 2 more years for our next batch to not leave from no opportunity.

Why would we pay out extra to " trade up " in a draft year where most kids barely got to play a game of footy for the season. When we could bank some double up picks into a year where most of the kids who missed last season's games would come into this years draft a bit more mature. Along with this years best kids who should get a season of games n create a seriously fat draft.

Top it up with the fact that we've got a very promising bunch of youngsters who are already fighting to find a way to break into a multi premiership side and it seems pointless to keep cramming more numbers into a very crowded space instead of creating a little bit of room for the list to breathe.

I'm happy enough with the way the club has seen to go forward regarding the list growth n development. Don't think they've done a massive amount wrong this last generation of players.

Genuinely excited to see RCD. Point of difference in our midfiel.

Unicorn potential, big, quick breakaway pace.

Not looking for a lot of touches but impact moments.

Go well son.
