Welcome to the Tigers Oleg Markov

Oleg will play plenty of senior footy in my opinion just needs a good run with injuries

Yeah he is very capable. We will lose a few depth players this year and need him coming through.

Markov must be pretty highly regarded.

He’s in a group of just 4* (non-premiership players) contracted for 2019 and beyond.

Garthwaite Higgins short & Markov.

Of course It could also mean he was happy to take the first offer but I think the club rates him.

* not counting draftees on initial 2 year contracts.

I was talking to someone in and around RFC about 2 months ago and we were talking about Menadue, CEllis and Markov. This person said to me that he had heard that the one we really wanted to keep the most and had the highest hopes for was Markov.

That surprised me but sounds like he was correct

Doesn't surprise me. Injury has deprived him. Go back to a Collingwood game in 2016 where he had 26 disposals, 12 marks, 10 rebound 50s, 4 inside 50s, 6 intercepts. That's the sort of thing he can do, he is super quick, to me the most likely replacement for a Houli. Has only played 15 games, just needs a bit of luck with injury that allows him to get back his confidence in his body.

Well written Tigerlove.

2016 he looked so promising.

Would love to see him trialed on a wing next year.

Injuring has cruelled him and congrats on his signing. Has all the attributes.

He is a gun and I also see him as the obvious replacement for Houli

I have always seen Markov as the Houli replacement and Menadue as the Grigg replacement

Hope Menadue , Moore , Stengle , Chol are all offered another contract

Hardly a surprise. Markov is a better player than the other two.

Markov was the last player out of our side pre finals last year (to make way for the returning Caddy)

He was extremely close to being a premiership player.

His form straight back from injury in the VFL finals this year was far from shabby. It's a pity we didn't get to the next week or 2 of the play offs

Yep, the VFL collapse was really disappointing. Not happy about that at all. We were not ruthless enough and played very poorly. Should be playing off in GF.

The new Robbie McGhie? Oleg is becoming scarier and menacing....
