Welcome to the Tigers Oleg Markov

I think his father has instilled a really good work ethic in him. His appetite for the contest combined with his pace are great to see. Emma Quayle may have been right and we got a good one for a bargain basement pick.

yr right on Carn. with a world champ as a dad how could it not rub off - whatever you choose to do in life.

This guy after two games has shown more effort and poise than blokes like Vlaustin, Bellis and Hunt have over their whole careers. The fact that these guys continually get games after poor performances is the main reason we haven't won a final during the Hardwick era.

Tigers need to stop gifting plodders games and give them some vfl time to regain form. As we have seen the past two weeks there is value in blooding youngsters and even though Jesus McBean hasn't done a lot, would we have got much more out of Tyrone based on current form????

Next round I'd like to see Sheds given a chance to regain form in the vfl with particular emphasis placed on pressure acts, this guy has forgotten how to tackle..Give Ben Lennon a go for a few weeks.

Vlaustin has his moments, he will be a good player especially if he is given more time in the middle. Still needs to be dropped when not performing, that was my point...

i'd never question Vlastuin's effort!

I get the same feeling about this kid as I had when I first saw Geoff Raines play. He's got star quality written all over him.

AJm if Markov is half as good as Rainesy then RFC has a future player on its hands.

I think we need to moderate expectation a little... or we could have another beanie fiasco..

Oleg was playing SANFL 2nds last year...

Obviously has elite qualities in speed and endurance etc etc and gee i would love him to make it and be a star, however i would definitely take a pick 50 a 150 gamer so is a big part of the team as opposed to our next Dusty or Rance...

Yes he played in the SANFL reserves grand final BUT
he also kicked 5 goals in the SA Under 18 team against Vic Metro.

Of the newbs Drummond and Markov are in favour.

Oleg is a funny one. I think his endeavour lets him down at times but I have seen him improve drastically in two minutes at AFL level. He can be cautious. (We're not talking Witness here.) It's because he's smart. He's got velocity and a tank. He can kick. And sometimes fierce - that surprised me.

He was over-awed at times last week but he gets another chance. He might get an easier slot with Bachar back.
